When will the world championship event take place in Pokémon GO?
The 2022 World Championship event in Pokémon GO will run from August 18, 10am to August 23, 8pm.
What exclusive Pokémon does the World Championship 2022 event offer?
During the event, you can get the World Championship 2022 Pikachu in Raid Battles, Field Research, and Temporary Research. If you're lucky, you might even get a Shiny specimen of the pocket monster.
Only during the event you can get the World Championship 2022 Pikachu.
All event bonuses and rewards for temporary research
During the World Championship event in Pokémon GO, three event bonuses are active:
- At PokéStops, you can encounter challengers with Pokémon teams modeled after the winning teams of the Pokémon GO Regional Championships.
- For victories in the GO Battle League, you will receive 3 times the amount of stardust.
- During the event, you will be able to complete ten battles per day in the GO Battle League instead of just five.
For the limited research, which you can find in the app under "Today" in the field research, you will receive a World Championship 2022 Pikachu, a Top Instant TM, and a Top Charge TM, in addition to numerous Pokéballs at the end.

As is always the case with these events, you'll encounter a few Pokémon in the wild as well as in the field.

In the wild, you'll encounter the following Pokémon more frequently during the World Championship event:

Field Research
When you complete Field Research, you will encounter the following Pokémon between August 18 and August 23:
