FIFA 18 World Cup Update: That's why Marco Reus, Ashley Young and Co. are missing.

On Tuesday, May 29, the World Cup update for FIFA 18 was released. Since then, players can experience the World Cup at home on the virtual pitch and lead their favorite nation to victory. After all, the free addon includes the licenses of all 32 participating teams, as well as the 12 World Cup stadiums.

However, the squads do raise some questions: Germany's national team in FIFA 18 features Sandro Wagner and Emre Can, for example. However, national coach Joachim Löw did not even nominate them for the real national team. One national player, on the other hand, is missing: Marco Reus. But why is that?

Not at the World Cup, but still in the FIFA World Cup Update: Emre Can

Update to follow

The reason for the incomplete squad is that EA SPORTS already announced the players for the World Cup addon on May 15. That was before Jogi Löw even nominated the real squad. That's why you can currently play with Emre Can in the national team in FIFA 18, while Marco Reus is missing. Additionally, the developer implemented 30 players per team, while the real squad may only consist of 23 kickers.

No worries about FUT cards

However, EA SPORTS already announced that it wants to update the teams in the coming days, so that players like Marco Reus will also make an entrance. If the non-nominated players are removed, you don't have to worry about your FUT cards. There is a very high probability that you will keep them.

This was also the case with players who moved to a new league or club. However, you will no longer be able to draw them from the card packs and the announced upgrades over the course of the World Cup will also be absent.
