Kirby and the Forgotten Land: The best tips & tricks

In the tips guide to Kirby and the Forgotten Land you will learn:

  • Which special power you can not miss
  • How to collect coins and stars as quickly as possible
  • What to expect in the endgame

Kirby's latest jump & run adventure has finally been released and offers massive content for all Nintendo lovers. As usual, Kirby can swallow enemies to take on their abilities and characteristics. The missions are varied and hold numerous secrets to discover.

Away from the missions, you can recover from your exertions in the idyllic Waddle Dee village and try your hand at the mini-games. In the guide, we'll tell you the most useful tips and tricks for the perfect start.

What is the best special power in the game?

When Kirby sucks in an enemy, he takes on the ability and characteristics of the swallowed creature. These so-called special powers can be improved at the weapon dealer in Waddle Dee town by collecting rare blueprints. In our Kirby blueprints guide, we tell you where to find each blueprint and provide a list of where to find each special power in the game.

Dig your way under enemies to avoid taking damage.

The three strongest special powers in the game:

  1. Morpho-Knight Sword: The last special power in the game that you can unlock. The Morpho Knight Sword not only deals immense damage, but can also heal you during a fight.
  2. Twin Drill: By using the drill, Kirby can move underneath the ground. This makes it easy to avoid most traps and obstacles in the game. Once you dig in a circle around a horde of enemies, you create a massive explosion.
  3. Blizzard Ice: The ice ability allows you to freeze enemies and then hurl them at more enemies like a bowling ball. Freezing even works on bosses and causes tremendous damage.

Road of Treasures - What you need to know!

Apart from the ordinary missions, there are also special treasure missions that will take you to the Road of Treasures. These special missions are marked on the game world with a blue star and are unlocked by progressing through the game or simply finding them. To find hidden treasure miss ions, it's best to fly over all the prominent map points and press the A button.

At the end of a treasure mission you will be rewarded with a star.

All treasure missions are small challenges that you must complete in a certain amount of time. Each mission requires you to use a different special power. Upon successful completion, you'll be rewarded with a star, which you'll need for upgrades at the weapon dealer. Treasure missions can also be seen as an extended tutorial, as they teach you all the tricks and combos of a special power.

What is the fastest way to earn coins?

The Currencies in Kirby and the Forgotten Land are coins and stars. Both are used to buy new upgrades for your special power. Healing items at the cafe, as well as collectible figures at vending machines, also cost coins.

Repeat boss fights and previous missions

One of the fastest farming methods of coins is to re-complete previously completed missions. Blueprints that you've already found will be replaced with a large pile of coins when you replay. Nearly every boss fight is completed quickly, making it easy to farm.

In the mini-game, you'll have to serve the right food to the hungry Waddle Dees.

Work as a temp in the Waddle Dee Café

Later in the game, a café is added to the Waddle Dee town. Here you can purchase useful healing items that you can either consume immediately or take with you. The café owner stands in front of the store and offers you a job as a temp. Numerous coins await you as a reward.

The funny mini-game has three difficulty levels. The higher the difficulty level, the fatter the payoff. The mini-game can also be played in co-op mode, which speeds up the money-making process quite a bit.

How does the co-op mode work in Kirby?

You can play Kirby and the Forgotten Land together with a friend. To unlock the co-op multiplayer mode, you must first complete the tutorial level "Place of Arrival". Then select "Team Mode" from the menu to bring your partner into the game.

Alternatively, you can start the co-op mode in the Waddle Dee town by talking to the Waddle Dee assistant. By the way, the co-op mode only works when you play offline. So it is not possible to host an online session.

Your partner's attacks depend on your own strength.

Your teammate takes on the role of Waddle Dee's assistant. The little fellow doesn't have Kirby's special powers, but he deals out at least as hard with his spear. The strength and versatility of the spear attacks depends on the current level of Kirby's equipped special power.

What can I expect in the endgame?

After you complete the regular story, you'll unlock new content. A live band now performs in the Waddle Dee town, which will regularly delight you with new songs if you have the spare change. Also, new photos can be found to add to your photo wall in Kirby House.

In the Colosseum, two new cups will be unlocked that can earn you a lot of coins. In addition, in the final game you'll have the opportunity to further strengthen your special power at the weapon dealer. Most interesting, however, are the "Isolated Islands: Ver'Ges Dreams", a new bonus world that will be available to you after completing the story.

After the story, new enemies await you in the Colosseum.

How do I unlock the true ending?

To unlock the True Ending, you will need access to the bonus world "Isolated Islands: Ver'Ges Dreams". Here you need to collect all the fragments of Leo's soul. Once you've collected all the fragments, you'll be able to fight the true final boss of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. If you manage to defeat Morpho-Knight, you will not only be rewarded with the true ending, but you will also receive a brand new blueprint for another special power.
