Hot Wheels Unleashed: How to get all the cars

In Hot Wheels Unleashed you don't do anything different than when you were little kids: racing around the tracks with toy cars. However, this is a bit more impressive in the arcade racer from developer Milestone. In this guide you can find out how to increase your fleet of cars:

  • How to get more vehicles
  • Which free cars are available
  • Where to find the free cars

Something for everyone

The cars are the heart of Hot Wheels Unleashed. And there are more than 60 of them. Whether strange representatives like the bumper car, a dino racer to realistic vehicles like the Mini Cooper S or the Audi S8. Everyone will find their favorite vehicle here.

But there are also some interesting bolides to discover for nostalgics. For example, the DeLorean from "Back to the Future", the Batmobile or the party bus of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can be found among the four-wheeled representatives.

The little racing cars have been digitally brought into the game in great detail

But where can the cars be found?

As with almost all arcade racers, you don 't get the complete fleet of cars. Of course, you have to complete races and collect coins.

For 500 of the earned coins you can then purchase lootboxes, from which you get one vehicle each. These are divided into the following rarity levels:

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Legendary
  • Super Treasure Hunt

Unfortunately, there is also the possibility of pulling duplicate cars from the loot boxes. While you can sell them for gold or scrap them for mechanic parts (to upgrade your vehicles, for example), it's usually more of a losing proposition for you.

In addition to K.I.T.T. and the Batmobile, there's also the fine gem for the racing track

However, you can also buy some cars directly at face value in the game's store. The advantage is that you don't buy a pig in a poke here. Nevertheless, they do cost quite a bit.

You'll pay around 500 coins for a car of the rarity "common". If you want to call a legendary car your own, you can even pay 2,000 co ins. However, you should only do this if the car you really want is available in the store.

You can also get any car from the store from one of the lootboxes. But you'll end up paying more than if you bought it directly. So think it over very carefully.

You can also buy vehicles directly from the store

Farming gold with the racing season

You'll also find an in-house Battle Pass in Hot Wheels Unleashed. This is called Race Season and offers buyers, among other things, some vehicles and decorations from the DC cosmos around Batman, Aquaman and Co.

But even those who don't want to pay 5.99 Euros will get their money's worth. The majority of the loot is also available for those who have not purchased the pass. And among them, there is also a lot of gold, in addition to some decorative embellishments.

A corresponding level up brings 3,500 of the coveted coins. That's seven lootboxes for you and correspondingly seven new vehicles.

Leveling is also more than beginner-friendly. Every day there are three tasks to master. These are simple tasks, such as activating a boost for a certain amount of time, and even getting first place in a race three times (as a tip: set the difficulty to "Easy" and you'll be through in three races).

If you complete the daily tasks, you will directly climb up a few levels. Many mechanic parts for the upgrades and the coveted gold coins await you. Otherwise, you would only get them from races, and depending on your ranking, that's not exactly a lot. Therefore, take advantage of the current racing season, which runs until January 2022.

For each level there are decent rewards in the racing season. It's worth taking part!

These cars are free of charge

Of course, Hot Wheels Unleashed gives you one or the other car for free. You can find them in the solo player mode City Rumble.

Here you move across a game board and select your path and the upcoming races. If you manage the tasks in the races, for example a place on the podium or a lap in a certain time, some rewards await you and you unlock more paths.

This alone is worth it, because you can get coins, mechanic parts and lootboxes, among other things. So if your Battle Pass has already reached the maximum level, you can continue farming here.

In addition, the City Rumble offers a wealth of wacky tracks, crazy tasks and secret bosses. And there are also some free vehicles waiting for you.

Rewards in the form of free cars can be found in several places around the map. You don't have to do anything but simply go to the corresponding field and collect your new bolide.

You will get these cars for free:

  • '71 El Camino
  • Time Attaxi
  • Twin Mill
  • Bad to the Blade
  • Buns of Steel
  • Hot Wheels High
  • Motosaurus
  • Rip Rod
  • Bone Shaker
  • Night Shifter
  • Duck N' Roll
  • Hi-Po Hauler
  • 442
  • Ramblin' Wrecker
  • Volkswagen Beach Bomb

So you can see that the trip to the city is definitely worth it. Have fun with it!
