New to Night City? Then take a look at our guide to attributes and skills.

Are all romances the same in Cyberpunk 2077?

In the streets of Night City, in addition to serious personal relationships with game characters, you can also purchase love for sale at so-called Joy Toys. They are displayed on the map as kissing mouth icons, and for a few Eurodollars you can get a quick number for in between. The prostitutes don't care about the gender of V, except for the costs there are no further requirements for these encounters.

The situation is different if you want to start romances with side characters in Cyberpunk 2077 who are after more than your money.

Which characters can V romance in Cyberpunk 2077?

There are a total of five romances with side characters in Cyberpunk 2077. Some of V's possible lovers are only into a certain gender. Their outward appearance and voice are important to them, not their genitals. The following list shows which character can romance which version of V:

  • Judy: V's voice and body type must be female
  • Panam: V's body type must be male
  • River: V's body type must be female
  • Kerry: V's voice and body type must be male
  • Meredith: No requirements
  • Rogue: No prerequisites

Instructions for all romances in Cyberpunk 2077

In general, it is not difficult to start romances in Cyberpunk 2077. Follow up quests that revolve around the corresponding characters, be nice to them and reply to their messages on your smartphone. We'll give you hints on what else to look out for.

Judy Alvarez

You'll meet the Braindance specialist at the very beginning of the main campaign. She is a close friend of Evelyn Parker and a member of the Mox gang. If V's body type and voice are female, a romance with Judy is possible.

Later, Judy appears again in the campaign: During the main quest "Automatic Love," she wants to track down Evelyn with V's help. Call her whenever the game asks you to. Completing the mission triggers a new quest called "The Space In Between", after which "Disasterpiece" and "Double Life" are important for Judy. Stay in contact with her as much as you can during the quests. Involve her when possible and don't do anything to upset her.

Next, you'll get a quest line that's more personal. Between "Both Sides Now" and "Pyramid Song," watch out for the following:

  • Judy will eventually ask you if you want to kill a certain character or let them live. Ask her what she would prefer and do what she says.
  • During the quest "Pisces" Maiko will change the plan Judy decided on. Again, do what Judy says and draw your weapon when prompted. If you don't kill Maiko, you will get a cheek kiss from Judy afterwards. If you kill her, Judy will be shocked, but will contact you again after a few days. You can still end up with her.

At the end of "Pyramid Song", Judy will get down to business if you select the dialogue option with the addition of "Touch". If you want it to develop into something longer, say the next morning that it was "the beginning of something nice" for you.

If, after completing the main campaign, you want a "good ending" with Judy you will have to let Panam and her gang help you against Arasaka in the last quest. This option only appears if you have previously completed all of Panam's missions. This is the only way to unlock an ending where V will be happy with Judy even beyond Night City.

Panam Palmer

Panam Palmer is a former Nomad whose quest lines take V to the Badlands outside Night City. A romance with her only works if V has a male body type.

The main storyline that revolves around Panam is called "Ghost Town" in Act Two of Cyberpunk 2077, and while trying to find Anders Hellman, Rogue brings you into contact with Panam. Follow all quests that arise with her afterwards and avoid dialogues that could obviously have a less positive effect on V's relationship with Panam. In particular, take her side in front of Saul so that she develops an interest in you.

If opportunities for "touching" arise, take them - even if you are unsuccessful in "Riders On The Storm". There will also be opportunities to get closer to Panam in "With A Little Help From My Friends" and "Queen Of The Highway". You will have to do without a bed scene, but at least there will be a kiss at the end.

There is also a "good ending" including a Panam romance: If you have completed all the quests for Panam and kissed her, you can choose at the end of the main story that she and the Aldecados help in the fight against Arasaka. This leads to a romantic ending between V and Panam being shown during the credits.

River Ward

In the side quest "I Fought The Law" in act two, V meets the cop River Ward for the first time. You can only start a romance with him if V has a female body type.

After completing the mission "I Fought The Law" with River, River will come back with another quest called "The Hunt". This is where things get personal for the beefy cop: help him track down Randy while making sure they both survive. If you are presented with a choice, opt for the "Edgewater Farm".

Once the quest is done, River will eventually ask you to meet him. This will allow you to trigger the "Following The River" mission, during which you'll give the obvious answers and flirt with him for all he's worth. At the river, you'll choose the dialogue options "I know what this is going to be." and "As long as you don't fall in love..." and things will get hot. The next morning, at the end of the conversation, answer "Yes." and kiss River goodbye. Thus, you have successfully completed the romance with him.

Kerry Eurodyne

Johnny Silverhand still knows Kerry Eurodyne from their times together in the band Samurai. Kerry will only start a romance if V's voice and body type are male.

To meet Kerry in Cyberpunk 2077, you must first complete the missions "Chippin' In" and "Blistering Love" with Rogue and Johnny. After that comes the quest "Holdin' On", during which you'll meet Kerry for the first time in the present. From here on, several Kerry quests follow, from "Second Conflict" to "Rebel! Rebel!" After that, he contacts you via text message and wants to meet with V.

This again opens a series of quests with him: "I Don't Wanna Hear It" and then "Off The Leash". Here you'll choose the following dialogue options:

  • "Nice to have a moment alone."
  • "You can tell me."
  • "But you're getting somewhere."
  • "Maybe you should stop being afraid."

After that, you can kiss Kerry.

After that, to continue the romance, take the "Boat Drinks" quest, which takes place on Kerry's yacht. Here, the following dialogue options are purposeful:

  • "[Sit.] Sure."
  • "[Stand up.] Let's get going!"
  • "Let's make driftwood out of this fucking boat!"
  • "[Help Kerry.]"
  • "[Kiss.]"

With that, you'll trigger a "hot" scene aboard the burning yacht. Later on the beach, choose to hug Kerry to start a serious romance.

Meredith Stout

V meets Meredith Stout quite early in Cyberpunk 2077. She's a corporation that doesn't care what appearance V's body has in the game.

Before you infiltrate the Maelstrom gang's base in "The Pickup", you'll get the chance to make a deal with Meredith. It makes no difference whether you accept the money from her or not. However, you are not allowed to attack her bodyguards.

After the quest is over, Meredith will send you a message. Reply with "Too bad. I'm getting used to you ..." and meet at the appointed place. There you will have a sex scene with her - a one-night stand. If you're looking for romances with real consequences in Cyberpunk 2077, Meredith is not for you.

Rogue Amendiares

This romance is hardly one at all: In the mission "Blistering Love," V leaves Johnny the body they share to make up for a date he and Rogue should have gone on 50 years ago. If you behave correctly here, you'll fulfill a prerequisite to unlock a secret ending of Cyberpunk 2077. However, no matter how hard you try, the love story doesn't quite work out.

So get ready for some heartbreak in Cyberpunk 2077: Rogue is waiting for V, or rather Johnny, at the beginning of the quest before the Afterlife. You'll have a nice chat on the way to the drive-in, only to discover that the Silver Pixel Cloud is closed. Enter the little house and enter the door code "0000". Go up the stairs while Rogue looks for a cozy spot and turn on the projector. Now join her and have a conversation. Choose the following answers:

  • "I like Rogue from 2077"
  • "Do anything not to lose you."
  • "The only thing that matters is that I'm back"
  • "[Kissing] That's more than I expected."

In the following sequence, things get hot at first, but Rogue abruptly breaks off the romance. Still, there is no denying a romantic connection between Johnny and her.

Romance without a happy ending: it doesn't work out with Rogue and Johnny.
