Forza Horizon 4: How to earn influence

Forza Horizon 4 is the latest installment in the racing game series and it's once again up to you to put on a festival the likes of which the world has never seen before. However, this will only work if you gather enough influence. We give you tips on how to get a lot of the currency quickly.

A street race through Edinburgh is just one of the highlights in Forza Horizon 4.

Earn influence with races in Forza Horizon 4

Of course, the most influence you can gain is by completing races. The better you place at the end, the more of one of the two currencies in the game you'll get.

But winning is not the only thing that counts. For example, if you repeatedly prove your drifting skills or otherwise shine with masterful maneuvers, you'll get a skill bonus.

There is also a bonus for all decent drivers. So if you don't push others off the track or otherwise race around the course like a wild sow, you'll also get additional influence points for the clean race. Staying decent pays off even more than skills, by the way.

Quickly earn additional influence

However, you don't always have to rush into the races that pop up gradually on your map to earn more influence.

As in the predecessors, Forza Horizon 4 once again has panels scattered along the roads that give you different amounts of bonus points when you run them over.

However, the higher the amount of points, the better they are hidden or the more difficult they are to reach. But even the lowest boards, which only bring you 1,000 influence points, you'll have to look for under bridges or behind hedges at times.

Stunts, speed cameras and viewpoints

Well-known elements of the Horizon series are the jumps, speed cameras and viewpoints. You can also earn influence for these and thus pad your account. The jumps are - unsurprisingly - once again about how far you make it. The further your car flies, the more influence you'll have at the end.

You can try the jumps over and over again and with other vehicles, as there are three stars you can achieve here, just like in the Blitzers. Once you've earned the third star, however, it's over and you'll have to look for a new jump.

The same applies to the stationary speed cameras and the speed camera zones, where you have to keep an average speed as high as possible.

The viewpoints are, for example, impressive natural spectacles or remarkable buildings that you can also find all over Great Britain. You'll also get an influence bonus for discovering them.

Also not to be underestimated is the uncovering of the road network: For each newly discovered road you also get a little influence, which adds up to a total of over 500 roads.

Forza Horizon 4 will be released on October 2, 2018 for Xbox One and PC.
