GTA Online and Red Dead Online "free money": Here's how it works

In the future, Rockstar Games will reward all players who secure their Rockstar Social Club with the new Two-Step Verification with a neat bonus in both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. With the Rockstar Social Club, you'll primarily manage your in-game contacts in both online offshoots of the well-known games and see your character values.

What the Rockstar Social Club has to offer

In addition, as a GTA Online player you can share pictures and videos, find a crew or rate current jobs created by other players. As a member of a crew, you can even create a new crew emblem and view the profiles of other crew members.

To prevent unwanted third parties from getting their hands on your account, you now have a new security option that kicks in every time you log in to Rockstar Social Club with a new device or from an unknown location.

Here's how to activate the new two-step verification:

  • Log in to Rockstar Social Club and head to your profile (at the top right of your account's profile picture). Click on the menu item "Settings"
  • In the "Settings" select the tab "Two-step verification". Your email address must already be verified in order to activate the new option (if your email address is not yet verified, have a verification email sent to the appropriate account in the "Email" tab).
  • Choose the authentication app you want from the list of apps supported by Rockstar Social Club and install it
  • Scan the QR code displayed on the "Two-Step Verification" page with the authentication app on your device (smartphone, tablet) or enter the secret code (browser) into the authentication app and click "Verify"

After submitting, if you log into your Rockstar Social account in the future using a new device (for example, a new console or PC) or from a previously unknown location, you will need to enter your account name (or email address), password, and the code generated in the authentication app on your smartphone, tablet, or browser.
