The Tier List Explained

The word animal in this case has nothing to do with our animal friends, but is the English term for "rank". In other words, it's about the ranking of the best classes in Lost Ark.

This ranking is divided into four categories: S-, A-, B- and C-tier. The latter represents the weakest classes, while under the S-tier you'll find the current best representatives. However, this can change quickly due to constant adjustments on the part of the developers, since balancing plays an important role in Lost Ark.

Furthermore, a distinction is made between player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. monster (PvE).

PvE Tier List: Best classes for fighting monsters

In PvE, several aspects have to be taken into account. So players can fight alone against the monsters or join a group. Advantage of a group of friends: The team can coordinate with each other and thus choose the appropriate classes.

If you throw yourself into the fray with a random group, some specializations clearly have the edge. However, no class is really bad in Lost Ark. Currently, the tier list in PvE looks like this:

S-tier is dominated primarily by supporters. These bring unique abilities that are especially effective in groups. For example, a Paladin and a Bard should be a permanent part of the team.

The former brings thick armor in addition to his support abilities, while the bardess relies on particularly strong spells to buff the group. Especially inexperienced players will benefit from the two powerful classes in Lost Ark.

In the A-rank, you'll find strong damage dealers, but they also have clear deficits. For most of them, it's a lack of defense, which is why these classes have to act especially carefully. For example, the Artillerist offers a useful shield, but if there is a Supporter in the group, it is not necessarily needed, and the Scrapper, while particularly strong, does not bring any advantages to the group beyond that.

In the B-list , the War Dancer emerges as a class that is particularly difficult to handle. The sniper benefits from being able to be permanently in ranged combat, but does little for the group overall.

In the C-tier, the weakest classes for monster combat are listed. Here you will mainly find the representatives that have equivalent or stronger counterparts. For example, the Battle Monk, which is the male counterpart of the War Dancer, but offers weaker buffs and plays slower. The Soul Fist has very long cast times and the Death Shooter is only effective with a very strong build.

PvP Tier List: Best classes for fighting other players

In PvP, it is especially important to have the right party split as well as the perfect mastery of the class. The following list takes into account the synergies of the individual specializations as well as the learnability and handling of the special abilities.

Among the S-tier warriors, classes that bring support to the team can be found. In the A-range, the Deathblade, the Lancer or the Artillerist are specializations that are difficult to counter.

In the B and C section, on the other hand, you'll find the fighters that have clear deficits or are difficult to master. Long casting times of the individual abilities as well as a low defense ensure a quick demise. Here you should only take them if you have a perfect command of the class and use a strong build.
