FIFA 18 Team of the Season (TOTS): Everything about the release, predictions and co.

If a kicker impresses on the real pitch with extraordinary performances, he will be honored by EA SPORTS with a special card in FIFA Ultimate Team. These are called "In-Forms" and are awarded on different occasions. Among the most important are the "Team of the Year" and the "Team of the Season".

While the Team of the Year is already out, the Team of the Season event is now starting. This is held once a year and rewards professionals who have performed convincingly in the previous season. Each major league so far always gets its own TOTS, which produces FUT cards that are better than most in-forms. Last year, Lionel Messi was able to enjoy his best card in FIFA 17 with the LaLiga TOTS.

Plus, there's always an ultimate Team of the Season at the end of the event, made up of the best players from each TOTS team.

Then come the TOTS in FIFA 18

In previous years, EA SPORTS released the first TOTS teams in early May. For FIFA 16, the Bundesliga team came on 13.05, in FIFA 17 the event started on 12.05. This year, FIFA fans expected the spectacle a few days earlier and indeed EA SPORTS confirmed at a FIFA event in Manchester that the first TOTS will be released on April 27.

Choose your team of the season

But the TOTS event already started on Sunday, April 15th: Since then FIFA fans can choose their own team of the season. For this, EA SPORTS compiled a list of over 100 professional footballers who have consistently performed well, but have not yet received a performance-based in-form card. The 23 players with the most votes will then make it into the so-called community TOTS, which will be published on April 27. You can vote via the sites futhead and futwiz.

These TOTS teams could still be around

Up until now, EA SPORTS has almost always honored the same leagues with special TOTS teams. Based on previous years' selections, the following leagues could receive a TOTS team:

  • Bundesliga
  • Premier League
  • Eredivisie
  • LaLiga
  • Pro League (Belgium)
  • SüperLig
  • Ligue 1
  • League Nos
  • Russian Premier League
  • Primera Division
  • Calcio A
  • EFL (2nd English League)
  • Saudi Professional League
  • Liga MX
  • Rest of the world

However, you should take this information with a grain of salt, as it is only speculation and rumors - not facts.
