Far Cry 5: Companions - How to unlock Boomer & Co

In Far Cry 5, you're up against the militant sect Eden's Gate. The guys and gals are not just confused believers in God, but a heavily armed and dangerous team. So that you don't have to fight them alone, the game provides you with a total of nine possible companions. They all have certain advantages to support you in battle.

Therefore, we will tell you which companion can do what and how you can unlock the helpers.

Boomer

Abilities: Boomer marks enemies in the environment. He also picks up weapons from enemies he attacks from time to time.

Location: Rae-Rae's Pumpkin Farm

Boomer the dog is one of the first companions you can meet. Provided you follow the game's recommendation to head to Fall's End for the start.

On the way there, you'll pass Rae-Rae's Pumpkin Farm, which has been stormed by the cultists. If you go there to see what's going on, you'll also find Boomer. Free him from his cage, pet him and he will follow you.

Nick Rye

Skills: Nick attacks enemies from the air with his plane, either with bombs or with gunfire.

Location: Rye & Sons Aviation

Near Fall's End is the Rye & Sons Aviation airfield. There you can unlock Nick as a companion if you complete his quests.

First you have to get his plane from John Seed's farm and later protect Nick's house and airfield from the cult.

Grace Armstrong

Skills: Grace is a sniper and can assist you in battles from a distance.

Location: Lamb of God Church

West of Fall's End you will find the Lamb of God Church. When you go there, you'll get into a fight between Grace and the cultists.

The fanatics want to destroy the cemetery there. If you help Grace stop them, she will join you.

Cheeseburger

Skills: Supports you in battle with his melee attacks and withstands some damage. He also attracts enemy attacks to himself.

Location: F.A.N.G. Center

To unlock Cheeseburger, you must first liberate the F.A.N.G. Center, which serves as an outpost for the sect. After that you can activate the corresponding quest.

The first step is to catch a salmon to make yourself popular with the bear. After that, go to its location and interact with it.

Now some cultists will appear who want to kill Cheeseburger. Of course, you have to prevent that in order to be able to use Cheeseburger as a companion afterwards, who will deal out a lot in the fight.

Tip: Make sure that you have powerful companions with you for this fight, such as Grace.

Hurk Drubman Jr.

Abilities: Hurk has a rocket launcher in his luggage, which is also homing and thus easily destroys land and air vehicles.

Location: Fort Drubman

Hurk has lost his father's car to the sect, which you should retrieve together with him.

Therefore, first drive with Hurk to a watchtower, where some cult members are waiting, and then take a zipline down into the valley. At a hut the car is parked and you will have to deal with a handful of cultists again.

Afterwards you drive with Hurk back to his father. He steers, you man the machine gun.

Jess Black

Skills: Jess is a masterful hunter, so enemies have a hard time spotting her and animals ignore her. She also fights silently with a bow.

Location: Baron Sawmill

Once you've liberated the Baron Sawmill cult outpost, you can talk to Jess there to activate her quest.

You will be asked to help take down a cult VIP named "The Cook". Just follow Jess and the tracks of the cult. You will pass a few cult camps during the quest, where they are holding hostages. Here you have to make sure that at least one prisoner always survives.

The cook at the end is not too tough an opponent. Once he's done, Jess will be at your service.

Peaches

Skills: A feline predator, Peaches can take down enemies silently and remains undetected in tall grass.

Location: Peaches Taxidermy

At the Peaches taxidermy you will meet the owner of the wild cat. She asks you to bring Peaches back to her cage, because the velvet paw has run away and caused some chaos among the cult members.

Therefore, grab the bait and equip it as a projectile in the weapons menu. After that, follow Peache's tracks, at the end of which you'll encounter some cultists that you'll have to eliminate.

Then throw the lure on the path to lure Peaches back to the taxidermy - don't worry, you have infinite supplies.

Along the way you'll encounter a few more cult members, and at the taxidermy you'll have to stop an attack. Neither of these is too difficult.

Afterwards, lure Peaches into her cage and talk to her mistress, who will eventually let you have the cat.

Sharky Boshaw

Skills: Sharky is an explosives expert and attacks accordingly with fiery weapons. He himself is immune to most explosions and impacts.

Location: Moonflower Trailer Park

You can find Sharky in the "Moonflower Trailer Park", he is waiting for you there to spank a few (hundred) "Angels" together.

They are under Faith's drugs and Sharky attracts them with loud music. After some time, however, the speakers break down, so that the music can no longer be stopped.

You will have to turn off the four speakers manually and then kill the remaining enemies.

Adelaid Drubman

Skills: Like Nick, Adelaid is a good aerial support, but with a helicopter.

Location: Drubman Marina

As is often the case, you must first liberate the Drubman Marina, which serves as a cult outpost, before you can activate Adelaid's quest.

In this one you have to get the lady's helicopter back from the cult. Therefore, it's best to grab a helicopter yourself and visit the three given destinations to find the good piece.

To complete the quest, you'll have to take out the pilot of Adelaide's helicopter and then take over the helicopter and bring it back to her. Note: It's possible that the guy will get into the helicopter and fly away when attacked. So you'll have to be quick and target him first.
