Mass Effect Legendary Edition: All romances in the second part

Shepard can also have a romantic relationship with different characters in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. In Mass Effect 2, you have more partners at your disposal than in the first part. Our guide shows you:

What romances are available to you?

The first part of the Mass Effect series offers a manageable number of romantic possibilities with other characters. Mass Effect 2, on the other hand, has ten potential partners for togetherness.

Once again, the decisive factor is Shepard's gender, which you selected at the beginning of the game. A homosexual option with the same species is now also available for a female Shepard. But not between two men.

These characters want to get to know you better

There are a total of 10 romances with secondary characters in Mass Effect 2, and the remaster hasn't changed that number. The process has remained the same, and it usually takes the same approach for each potential partner.

To prevent a romance from happening in the first place, you'll have to be very negative towards the other character right from the start.

And what about the beloved from Mass Effect 1?

Should you have built up a romance in the first part of Mass Effect, will not forget this in part 2. The relationship partner will be visible as a picture on your desk. If you stay faithful to them, this will be rewarded with a cutscene during the last mission. In addition, the romance can be continued with some characters in Mass Effect 3.

On the other hand, if you enter into a new relationship in Mass Effect 2, the picture will be put down at some point. If you continue the romance from Part 2 in Part 3, your love partner from the first part can cause trouble later.

How to woo Miranda Lawson

Miranda Lawson is not only a gifted bioticist, but also a senior officer at Cerberus and one of the stranger's closest associates.

With a male Shepard, you'll have the opportunity to romance Miranda.

To do this, you'll have to accomplish the following things:

Cultivate a friendship with her from the very beginning.
Do nothand Veetor to Talion Freedoms Progress in the Prologue.
Take Miranda's side in the confrontation with Jack .
Fulfill her loyalty mission and help her keep her father from getting his hands on her twin sister.

A liaison with the mysterious stranger: Tali

The Quarian Tali is a gifted tech expert and the daughter of the Quarian Admiralty Council Chairman Rael'Zorah.

Again, a male Shepard can get close to the quarian and start a romance with Tali.

To do this, you will need to make the following choices:

Tali also wants to be treated kindly and respectfully from the start. So watch your choice of words towards her.
Give Veetor to Tali on Freedoms Progress.
Help Tali on her loyalty mission to obtain important data from her people from the Geth. Afterwards, if you don't tell the court about Tali's father's offenses, the quarian will suggest a relationship.

The soldier of the crew: Jacob Taylor

If your Shepard is female, you can romance the former Alliance Corsair and elite soldier Jacob Taylor.

However, this is only possible before you leave for the collector station, otherwise it remains a purely friendly relationship. Provided Jacob survives.

The following things you have to fulfill for a romance:

Initially, Jacob shows no interest in Shepard. So you have to show your interest openly in dialogues. Also, always be nice to him.
On Freedoms Progress, don't leave Veetor to Tali, leave him to Miranda.
If you fulfill his loyalty mission, Jacob will propose you a relationship. Enter into it then.

You love danger? Then bond with the dangerous Jack

Jack is an outstanding human biotic who rose to become one of the most feared and dangerous criminals in the galaxy after escaping from Cerberus.

If your Shepard wants to get to know Jack better, he must be male. But then it doesn't take much to start a relationship with her.

You will have to fulfill the following things:

Even an insane criminal wants to be treated well. So be nice to Jack from the beginning.
Take Jack 's side in the confrontation with Miranda .
Help Jack with her loyalty mission destroy the Teltin facility on Pragia. After that, she will propose you a relationship. If you enter into it, you'll notice that Jack's behavior changes fundamentally and she seems calmer.
Do not sleep with Jack before flying into the Omega 4 portal. This will prevent a deeper romance with her.

Romance with a turian: Garrus Vakarian

Garrus Vakarian is a Turian investigator in charge of the investigation against Saren Arterius.

For your female Shepard, there is the possibility of romance with Garrus. However, this can be more complicated than expected, as Turians are not known for their romance.

Here are some things you should keep in mind for a romance:

Express interest in Garrus at all times during your conversations with him. Differences between the two species should not bother you.
After completing his loyalty mission, Garrus will offer you a relationship. However, continue to support him in his uncertainty about how to behave toward you.
If Garrus tries to compliment you, help the turian before he makes a complete fool of himself. If you don't, your relationship could end.

Thane Krios: The best assassin in the galaxy

With Thane Krios, your female Shepard gets the chance to have a relationship with a Drell.

The Drell assassin prefers to sneak up on his opfe to personally kill them with cunning and trickery. However, he also has another side, as you will discover.

To seduce Thane, you must do the following things:

Express your interest in Thane early on. Also when he talks about his deceased wife.
Don't choose the renegade path on the way to the Omega 4 portal. That way you lose the chance for both of them to kiss.
Help Thane with his loyalty mission with his son Kolyat, then the drell will propose you a relationship.

Man or woman? Kelly Chambers doesn't care

Kelly Chambers is the yeoman aboard the Normandy. To romance her, your chosen gender doesn't matter.

Kelly has a very positive and loving attitude towards all living things. Thus, species and gender do not matter to her.

If you want to date Kelly, keep the following things in mind:

Be friendly to her from the beginning, so that after a short time Shepard will only address her as Kelly.
InviteKelly to dinner and ignore what others think about you.
Once you have acquired fish, Kelly offers to feed them in your quarters after dinner in your absence. You should accept the offer.
If you don't have another relationship going on before the suicide mission, Kelly will send you an email asking you to invite her to your quarters. If you do this, she will seek you out in a very erotic outfit.
Save Kelly from being "processed" during the suicide mission. Otherwise, she will die during the mission.

A Strange Family: Samara and Her Daughter Morinth

It's best to give Samara and her daughter Morinth a wide berth, because the two asari are trouble.

With Samara you can only flirt a little and reveal your feelings in the end. But a real relationship doesn't develop out of it. This is partly because she carries too many burdens on her shoulders after a fight with her daughter Morinth.

This is because Morinth is a so-called Ardat Yakshi and suffers from a rare genetic disorder that causes the asari to kill her "love partners" when they merge. This leads to an addictive ecstatic state.

If you choose Morinth in the battle between mother and daughter and save her, you can romance her. However, the asari's addiction has not changed and Shepard dies after the union. The game thus ends. Is it worth it?

Reunion with an old flame: Liara T'Soni

In Mass Effect 2 you can continue your romance with Liara. However, this is only possible during the DLC "Shadow Broker" and only if there was a relationship in the predecessor.

If this is the case, Shepard and Liara are still a couple and kiss each other. In addition, you should help Liara, of course. She will thank you in Mass Effect 3.
