Jurassic World Evolution 2: Install the best mods
It didn't take long for the community to develop and provide numerous mods for Jurassic World Evolution 2 either. But which ones are there and which ones are worthwhile? In this guide you'll learn
- How to install mods in Jurassic World Evolution 2
- What you should pay attention to before downloading
- Which mods are available and which are worthwhile
You haven't really found your way into the game yet and need some help? Then take a look at our Jurassic World Evolution 2 beginner's guide and use our tips for the first few hours.
Installing mods: Here's how
First of all, you can only use mods for the PC version of the game! You can find the additional content on the Nexus Mods platform. According to the website, the mods can be used without any problems and are free of viruses. At least that's what the information under the respective mods promises.
But as always, the same applies here: Caution is advised! The content does not come from the developer himself. You install mods at your own risk and it can never be ruled out that errors may occur in the game itself. In any case, make a backup of your current savegame.
Installation via Steam
Download the appropriate mod file from the site. It is a .zip file, which you can unzip and place on your desktop. Now open your Windows Explorer, go to the Steam folder and follow this path: Steam > steamapps > common > Jurassic World Evolution 2 > win64 > ovldata
Drag the folder with the mod from your desktop into this directory. After that, start the game, go into sandbox mode and you should find the modifications you installed from now on.
More building options
You find great pleasure in designing the reptiles' enclosures? Expanded Terrain Tools will make it a lot easier for you, since you'll have advanced tools at your disposal. For example, if you want to place a small forest, you can choose a much larger radius for your tool.
You can also build mountains much steeper than without the mod. Even stones and small rock formations can be placed closer together. Even if the indicator is red and you normally can't build anything because there is already something there: It still works!
New aquatic dinosaurs: Swimming shredding machines
There's no question that the ichthyosaur makes quite a splash in your water tank. But a school of Xiphactinus could provide even more wow moments. The predators lived during the Upper Cretaceous and made the waters unsafe. They strongly resemble the piranhas we know today.
With the Xiphactinus mod,you can transform the ichthyosaur into a Xiphactinus, which you can admire in your tank from now on.

How the megalodon moves into your parkAll trophies and achievements in the guideMammoth Mod: Gentle Giants in the Park
Prairie mammoths, or Columbian mammoths, once had a height - or, more accurately, withers height - of agood four meters and, at around ten tons, were real colossi. In contrast to their hairy relatives, the woolly mammoths, the prairie mammoths had hardly any fur.
To make sure that the giants that lived between the middle and upper Pleistocene can be found in your park, you can use the Columbian Mammoth mod. It replaces the Camarasaurus, the sauropod colloquially known as long-necked, with the Columbian mammoth.
Giant snake: Long, longer, Titanoboa!
It is considered the longest known snake in the history of the earth: the Titanoboa. With its impressive length of around 13 meters, it effortlessly ate crocodiles as an appetizer. Findings revealed that it lived in the Paleocene era.
With the Titanoboa mod you'll bring the extinct giant snake back to the present. In Jurassic World Evolution 2, it replaces your mosasaur, the Tylosaurus.
Ice Age in Jurassic World Evolution 2?
The Ice Age Replacer Pack is probably the funniest mod for the game. Compared to the other mods, this one doesn't run quite as smoothly and has fewer movement elements built in, but this one is primarily about having fun. So don't expect to be able to run around with Sid, Scrat, Diego or Manny. But it's always enough for a funny photo.
