The expansion Iceborne () of Monster Hunter World () awaits you with some new monsters. In the new area, called the Raufreif Weite, the landscape is immersed in a thick layer of snow. If you look at the packaging of Monster Hunter World Iceborne, you will notice an ice dragon on the cover.
This is Velkhana, the flagship monster of this expansion. As a dragon elder, he's especially strong and can only be defeated with good tactics. Since the monster is of the ice type, we recommend you to wear armor with ice defense to be armed against Velkhana's attacks.
Against monsters of the ice type you have good chances with a firearm. Weapons of the element thunder and dragon also cause great damage to this monster. We also recommend you to have other effects in your repertoire, such as poison and paralysis, because Velkhana is very vulnerable to them.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: How to defeat Velkhana!
Velkhana is not to be trifled with. The dragon elder attacks from afar and easily gives you the ice plague, which lowers your stamina. Keep enough distance and use the clamp claw to pull you close to the dragon in seconds.
If you have explosive barrels in your pack, they are also a good choice to hurt Velkhana.

General tips for fighting Velkhana

- Velkhana is a ranged fighter and has a high attack radius. So better keep a little more distance from this monster.
- Use the canteen or at least the cooking corner in your camp, which is equipped according to your needs, before you go to Velkhana. It's better to fight with a full stomach and the different dishes give you additional buffs.
