Horizon Zero Dawn PC: Here's how it might become playable in the future

Horizon Zero Dawn recently got its only story DLC, "The Frozen Wilds," and if you're still annoyed that you can't play the action role-playing game on your PC, we have a solution here.

But first, we recommend the solution to the energy cells for the coveted Shieldweaver armor in the main game, as well as a guide to the launch of "The Frozen Wilds" DLC.

Can you play Horizon Zero Dawn on PC?

Horizon Zero Dawn for PC?

Officially, a release on this platform has not been made for Horizon Zero Dawn. The game about heroine Aloy and all kinds of murderous machines is an exclusive title for the PlayStation 4 and accordingly not released for any other system.

So you won't get a "proper" PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn, but there is a trick so you can still play it on this platform.

PlayStation Now brings PS4 games to PC

Sony offers a service called "PlayStation Now". This allows you to stream over 400 games for PS4 as well as PS3 for a monthly fee of 14.99 Euros. A list of titles can be found on the official PlayStation website.

Thanks to PlayStation Now, you can also stream games that are part of this service on your PC.

To do so, you'll need to download a corresponding app on your PC or laptop that has a current Windows operating system.

The system requirements for PlayStation Now are as follows:

Minimum requirementsRecommended requirements
Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10

So PS Now is bringing HZD to your PC?

Not quite, because the whole thing has a catch: Currently, Horizon Zero Dawn is not yet part of PlayStation Now and therefore cannot be streamed on PC or laptop.

Relatively recent PS4 titles like Until Dawn from 2015 are already integrated into the service. It is therefore obvious that Horizon Zero Dawn will also be part of the PS Now offer at some point. Unfortunately, it is currently difficult to estimate when that will be.

Horizon Zero Dawn celebrated its PS4 release on March 1, 2017, while the DLC "The Frozen Wilds" was released on November 7, 2017.
