Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Unlock all classes & heroes

In the class guide to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 you will learn:

  • How to change your class
  • How to unlock new character classes
  • How to recruit all heroes in the game

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3 there are many different character classes, all of which have different abilities and techniques. You'll get new classes through powerful heroes - these are special characters that you must recruit beforehand through a special hero mission.

Info about heroes and character classes

What are heroes?

Heroes are special characters that you can recruit and add to your party during the course of the game. Unlike other party members, you cannot control the hero in your party. Only one Hero can be active at a time, and that Hero will act as the seventh party member.

In the class menu you can see how long it will take until a new class is available to you.

How do I unlock a new class?

Each hero has a unique character class. The in-game class system allows each party member to learn new character classes. To switch to a new hero class, you must first unlock it. You achieve this by fighting as many battles as possible with the hero.

All heroes & classes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Ethel

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: Lightning Fencer
  • Hero Mission: Courage and Gratitude

You will automatically receive your first heroine when you follow the story in Chapter 3. The fast attacks of the "Lightning Fencer" class usually have additional buffs or cause "bleeding".

Valdi

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: War Healer
  • Hero Mission: Friend of all Levnisse

After you leave Colony 4 behind, you'll enter the Fornis area. Valdi is also unlocked automatically when you follow the story in Fornis. The War Healer is an enormously efficient healer class that has very powerful area heals.

Zeon

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: Protection Commander
  • Hero Mission: Home Feeling

Zeon is the first optional heroine you can unlock. After liberating Colony 30 and following the story a bit, you will have to travel back to Colony 9 and accept the quest "Homeland Feelings". The Protection Commander has very high defense stats and is very good at absorbing enemy damage.

Riku & Manana

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: Myamsmith
  • Hero Mission: What Nopon Want

You can't miss the funny Nopon couple. As the story progresses, you'll have to cross the Uraya Tunnel and go gem hunting. The Myamsmith combines offensive techniques with supportive buffs that benefit the entire party.

Teach

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: Thaumaturge
  • Hero Mission: The Character of Power

Once you have liberated Gamma Colony in Aetia, you can find the corresponding hero mission at a question mark icon in the western Alfeto Valley. The Thaumaturge is a mixture of healer and attacker.

Grey

  • Chapter: 3
  • Class: Titan Jaguar
  • Hero quest: Grey Zone

The hero quest can only be found if you have previously recruited Valdi and unlocked the special talent "Climbing Walls". In the east of Aetia at Mumur Hill you will find the question mark icon. The Titan Jaguar fights with a handgun. Each successfully placed shot boosts the next shot.

Isurd is not only a good leader, but also a powerful healer.

Isurd

  • Chapter: 4
  • Class: Strategos

  • Hero mission: Always one step ahead

The hero mission can be found relatively early in Chapter 3. Near the Stone Gate, on the Elaice Road, you will be attacked by Agnus soldiers. The next quest step will take you to the colony of Ioata. However, the enemies here are all over level 40, so the quest is impossible to complete in Chapter 3. Return later to tackle the hero mission.

Monica

  • Chapter: 5
  • Class: Lost Vanguard
  • Hero Mission: Vandham's Legacy

Once in town, you'll need to ask around for rumors and then discuss them with your party members. This is the only way to find the appropriate hero mission. The Vanguard can create powerful barriers that protect other party members from harm.

Fiona

  • Chapter: 5
  • Class: Banner Bearer
  • Hero Mission: Dream and Reality

Once in the Cadensia region, you can use a ship to explore the Sea of Erythia. In the northwest at the shell rock beach you will find the hero mission. A Banner Bearer is not only good at healing, but also has a number of useful party buffs.

Triton

No.7 Segiri

  • Chapter: 6
  • Class: Machine Assassin
  • Hero Mission: Inhumanity

Segiri is without a doubt the most difficult hero to unlock. In order to find the hero mission at all, you'll have to complete a whole series of side missions in Colony 4. The effort pays off in the end, though, as the robo-assassin teaches you the special talent of walking across toxic surfaces unharmed.

Nia

  • Chapter: Post-Game
  • Class: Way of life
  • Hero Mission: -

You can recruit the Queen of Agnus only after you finish the main story. Then travel to the Cloud Fortress in Aetia and visit the Hall of Mysticism. After a short cutscene, you will unlock Nia. The Way of Life is the strongest healer class in the entire game.
