The next era of gaming consoles will begin for the 2020 Christmas shopping season. Alongside Sony's PlayStation 5, Microsoft is putting its Xbox Series X in place. You can find out which titles will be released on the PS5 in our detailed guide to PlayStation 5 games. But we also have solid information about the upcoming games for Microsoft's new flagship.

2020: All Xbox Series X games for this year

In our guide with all the info on Xbox Series X, we already reported that there will initially be no exclusive titles on the new console. Instead, all first-party titles will still be released on the Xbox One in the first one to two years. In addition, Microsoft has announced the so-called Smart Delivery feature, whereby gamers will receive free upgrades of their Xbox One games to the Xbox Series X.

All first party titles from Microsoft rely on this feature. All other publishers can decide for themselves whether they want to use Smart Delivery or not. We reveal all games that are still scheduled for release in 2020 for the Xbox Series X and which of them support Smart Delivery.

Rumors: Unconfirmed titles for the Xbox Series X

Of course, in addition to the games already confirmed for the next-gen console, there are quite a few other games that will almost certainly be released for the Xbox Series X as well.

GTA 6 from Rockstar Games has been in development for quite a while, but will probably have to wait a bit longer.

After Diablo 3 () already found its delayed way onto the consoles, the newly announced Diablo 4 is also supposed to appear for the current console generation. Since the development of the action RPG should still take a while, we also expect a release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Will old games also run on the Xbox Series X?

In addition to the previously announced and expected games for the new generation, it will also be possible to play titles from earlier generations on the Xbox Series X. This includes games for the Xbox One as well as those Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles that are already playable on the current console.
