Tips for the battles in Orcs Must Die 3

One of the most important tips for the fights in Orcs Must Die 3 is: Use combos when defeating enemies to get bonus rune coins. You'll use the coins to build new traps after each wave of enemies - the more of them you have, the better.

To achieve combos in Orcs Must Die 3, you'll need to use more than two different tools to deal damage to an enemy before they die. So always build different traps in one place instead of focusing on just one type of trap. The more traps the orcs fall into, the higher your combo counter will go.

To make the enemies run into your traps, you should place barricades. They don't cause any damage, but they block the paths, so you can easily direct the orcs in a desired direction.

By blocking passages with barricades, you prevent the orcs from taking the shortest route and possibly bypassing some traps.

But beware of the little goblins with bomb backpacks, they also attack barricades and can destroy them. Therefore, concentrate all your fire on the goblins first, as soon as you see any.

Exploit the enemies' weaknesses

Before a round, you'll see the enemies that await you on the start screen above. Click on one of the orcs to see what its weaknesses are. For example, some orcs are particularly vulnerable to fire, others to ice or physical damage.

Based on the enemies, you now choose your arsenal of traps for the level. After all, what good are fire traps if the enemies only have ice weaknesses?

Orcs Must Die 3 also tells you in this screen which parts of the enemies' bodies are particularly vulnerable, which you can target with your weapons. For example, the big ogres are quickest to defeat with headshots.

How do I get more skulls?

After each successful match, you'll receive skulls as rewards, which you can use to buy new traps and weapons or unlock upgrades for equipment you already own.

Check out the weekly challenges in the main menu and complete them to receive additional skulls. For this, you'll also receive a trophy in Orcs Must Die 3 right away.

Perfect runs and completing missions quickly will also reward you with more skulls. At the beginning of a level, you'll always see the time in which you have to complete the level in the upper right corner.

You can also turn up the difficulty to get more skulls at the end of the level. However, we recommend that you play on the normal difficulty level at first and only try out the higher difficulty levels once you have unlocked more traps and weapons.

Reimburse improvements: How to get your skulls back

Important tip about the skulls: You can completely reset the upgrades at any time, so you can get back all the skulls you spent and redistribute them. For example, if you notice that a trap is not working well in this level, simply reset the upgrades and use the skulls to upgrade another trap.

Note: resetting only works with the upgrades. You can't return weapons or traps purchased with skulls, they remain permanently in your possession.

7 Bonus Tips for Orcs Must Die 3

  1. You can hold down the attack button to shoot throughout - this also works with the bow.
  2. While you have the bow's special attack charged up, you can continue to attack enemies with your standard attack.
  3. On the minimap, you'll see white dots gliding along before the start of a level. They tell you exactly where the enemies will run.
  4. You can activate the lava barrels in the levels either by pressing a button near them or by shooting at them from a distance.
  5. Near the crack, you will heal faster and your mana will replenish.
  6. Attacking and sprinting at the same time is not possible.
  7. Traps placed once in the level can be sold again.
