Ghostwire: Tokyo - Solve all side missions

In this guide to the side missions in Ghostwire: Tokyo you will learn:

  • Where to find the different side missions
  • How you have to proceed during each mission to master them
  • What rewards await you after completing each side mission

The main story of Ghostwire: Tokyo, penned by Tango Gameworks, will keep open-world ghost hunters entertained for about twelve to 14 hours. If you want to complete all the side missions, you should plan on another eight to ten hours.

Before we show you how to proceed within the side quests, an important hint: If you haven't completed the story yet, concentrate on the side quests that give you Magatama first. This is the only way to unlock particularly powerful abilities in the talent tree.

Also worth knowing: a side mission chain can only be completed if you complete it before getting on a special motorcycle with Akito. The game also points this out again for safety reasons. Avowed trophy hunters should also make sure to complete all the side missions first and then finish the last two chapters.

Side missions around Shiroyama Shrine

Last rites of a doll

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts

After the owner of the doll has lamented his misfortune, activate the spirit view and follow the soul trail of the flying doll. The following applies: Each blue glowing sphere shows you the further course of the trail. As soon as a building blocks your way for the first time, climb the stairs to the right of it. Once on the roof, head south and work your way across the roofs diagonally to your left back to ground level.

KK's ghost vision also highlights ladders.

Behind two mopeds you'll see the rest of the soul trail. Kill the visitors and follow the trail (which leads to the rooftops a little later) until you meet three headless guilt girls.

Once they've been dealt with, you can calmly activate the next sphere marker, which shows the rest of the trail. Once you find the doll, you must clean it and bring it back to the quest giver near Shiroyama Shrine.

Hunt Tanuki

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • 150 experience points

This is by far the most extensive side mission series in Ghostwire: Tokyo. To solve it, it's best to use our "Find all 25 Tanuki" guide. There you can also learn more about unlocking the rare Tanuki outfit.

The House of the Hoarder

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • about 1000 ghosts

After talking to the "man who won't come home", walk east to the search area. Shortly after, you will discover a house that is heavily littered from the outside. Approach the entrance, wait until the small black hole has disappeared and serve the three rain runners.

Then head into the house, open the double sliding door and switch to ghost view. After that, you'll have to investigate several places and perform hand gestures there. First at the flat dining table, then in the fridge, then at the mirror in the bathroom and then at the rattling door on the second floor.

If you can't manage the hand gestures on the DualSense controller's touchpad very precisely, you can simply leave them to KK with the square key.

The phantom you're looking for finally appears next to the bed of the filthy bedroom and sucks you into another dimension. Once you've eliminated all the visitors there, you can purify the phantom and complete the side mission after leaving the Messie House.

One by one ..

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts
  • 3 outfits: jacket, skinny pants, leather shoes (with cap)

In this side mission you will help the ghost of a CEO out of trouble. From the mission starting point, run southeast along the big road and then straight until you reach a blighted tree blocking an entrance. Inside the run-down office building, you now have to find three clues. The first one is on the floor of the toilet room on the second floor.

The second on a clipboard in the largest room on the second floor, and the third on the first floor under the room just mentioned in a loose-leaf binder. Caution: There are many enemies in the building. So don't enter it until your ammo supply is full. Also take a weakening and a stunning talisman for safety. Then bring all the clues to the CEO in front of the building.

Karakasa-kozo

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • 1 Magatama

This is one of the shortest side missions in Ghostwire: Tokyo. Talk to the "girl looking for the umbrella", enter the construction site, keep to the left and sneak after the now appearing Karakasa-kozo crouching without attracting attention. Close enough, you can absorb the yokai by holding down the L2 button. Finally, give the umbrella to the quest giver and collect the reward.

Side quests around Namita Shrine

Zashiki-Warashi

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts
  • 1 Magatama

After a short conversation with the old woman, enter the front door to her right and keep left until you reach the bedroom of the apartment. Activate KK's Ghost Sight and examine the sudden buddhist altar that appears. With the key hidden in it, you can open the safe in the cabinet next to the TV in the opposite room.

Important documents - such as the floor plan of the house from the Zashiki Warashi side mission - can be accessed in the database at any time.

Take a close look at the floor plan of the house hidden there and go to the eight-square-meter room at the top right of the map. It's quite bare and only has green seat mats in one corner. Now switch on the ghost view again and the previously empty wall turns out to be a sliding door. Hidden behind it you will see the phantom of the landlord.

Purify it, place the Shio-senbei crackers in the ceramic bowl on the wooden table and the Zashiki-warashi will reveal itself. Finish the mission by talking one last time to the old woman in front of the building as well as the zashiki-warashi that can now also be found there.

Deep Cleaning

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • about 1000 ghosts

After starting the mission, mark the center of the green search area on the map and head there. Not far from the marker you will discover a magic tree blocking the entrance to a bathhouse. Clean the tree, go inside and run straight to the central bath room - clearly recognizable by the pretty mural.

The fight at the end of the Deep Cleaning side mission requires some stamina.

In the room behind you remove another corrupted tree and then explore a dark corridor on the left, at the end of which you will be sucked into another dimensional battle. Note: Take plenty of food with you, as the fight is energy-sapping and takes place in an area with little room to dodge. Once all the visitors have been destroyed, the side mission is considered complete.

Side missions around Akisawa Shrine

The voice in the wall

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • 1 magatama

A quick chat with the artisan ghost reveals that you need to get to the adjacent hotel. In the lobby, first assassinate the umbrella visitor, take the elevator to the fourth floor, keep to the right, and in the hallway with KK Ghost Sight, look for a Yokai named Nurikabe blocking the door. Read the note on the nightstand, grab the picture from wall and bring it back to the artisan ghost.

Plaguing Visions

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • about 1500 ghosts
  • Camerafiter: Pencil

After starting the mission, go through the hospital entrance door on your right and first take care of the visitors in the lobby. Then continue down the long hallway to the right of the reception desk and take the elevator at the end of the hallway to the third floor. At the top, keep left and follow the corridor until you discover room 403 on the right.

After a conversation with the sobbing girl, get back out of the room, turn right and defeat the enemies. Now go up the stairs to the third floor - past the kitchen and the cafeteria - to the duty room. In a shelf hidden by a partition wall you will find a green file folder. This contains the numerical code to open the locked door in the hallway.

You can kill the "monster woman" from the side mission "Plaguing Visions" preferably with two stun talismans.

Now continue straight ahead and turn right through the broken wall. With the help of the ghost vision you will soon spot Owada, who reports about a monster woman. In the following duel, it's best to use two stun talismans to attack the emerging Kuchisake twice from behind. Finally, talk to the ghosts and you'll have redeemed the girl and Owada.

Side Mission at Hirokawa Shrine

Oni

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • 1 Magatama

First, talk to the quest giver of this side mission, who will send you in search of a collared dog. To find the dog, go to the crossroads south of the starting point. Look for a blue garbage truck there. To the left of it you will see the dog next to a bike stand.

Activate KK's Ghost Sight, talk to the dog and get him a Kibi Dango sticky rice snack from one of the nearby vendors. Once the dog has eaten the treats, it will lead you to the oni hiding in an adjacent backyard. Now shoot down the visitors that appear and a valuable Magatama is yours.

Side Missions at Kuo Shrine

The Blood Red Moon

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts
  • 2 outfits: Ghostwear, Fallout 4 Vault suit

After the phone call with Ed, first get the meter from the locker a few meters diagonally behind you. After that, you have to target the moon from three different skyscraper roofs in the area with the meter. A look at the map will tell you where they are. Start with the skyscraper southwest of your starting position and work your way north.

Align the gauge clock with the moon and wait for the percentage display to fill up completely.

Important: It's best not to tackle this side mission until your glide skill has been upgraded once. Also, make sure you have enough snacks, because the path to the top of the three buildings is full of enemies.

Once at the top, you should first remove any resistance and then calmly align the dial indicator with the marked point on the moon. Once you have all the data, teleport to the Kuo shrine, go to the phone booth where the mission started, and transfer the results to Ed.

Ittan-momen

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • 1 Magatama

In this side mission, Akito has to catch a rare Ittan-momen. It is located about 90 meters north of Kuo Shrine in the air, not far from a roof. To reach the latter, place a marker on the map position highlighted in green. Run towards the marker, jump from the escalator on the left to the tiled roof of the empty store and from there on to the glass roof of the terrace.

Now continue to the marker and the ghost creature is right in front of you. As soon as it escapes, take up pursuit. Be careful not to drop lower than the arched dome roof northwest of the original Ittan-momen position.

From this position you will catch the Ittan-momen with ease.

From the dome roof, cross over to the glass balcony with the trees. Now go to the tree next to which various pieces of clothing and suitcases are lying on the ground, stand on the railing and absorb the Ittan-momen.

Kappa

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • Camera filter: Cinema 1
  • 1 Magatama

First organize a cucumber, place it on the marked stone in the water and then hide behind the stone statue. Activate the ghost vision and patiently keep an eye on the kappa. Once it starts eating, you can sneak up behind it and absorb it.

Full House

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

In this side mission, you'll help an influencer with a ghost problem. Her haunted apartment is located on the second floor of a multi-story apartment building south of the starting location.

In the influencer's apartment you have to purify phantoms in four places.

Activate the ghost sight in the apartment in front of the bathtub, in front of the bed, in front of the closet and in front of the window and draw the corresponding sigils to purify the phantoms. Lastly, a small talk with the quest-giving lady and this case is also on file.

Side Mission at Akitsu Shrine

The missing dog

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

Go two blocks east from the starting positionuntil you discover a railroad underpass. Talk to the spirit of the little brother there. Shortly after, half a dozen enemies appear, including the dangerous red-headed rain runners.

It's best to use fire magic in battle, as the enemies have little room to dodge. Even better is a charged resonance attack. Finally, cast a hand mirror on the big brother.

Side Mission at Sakano Shrine

Mysterious footprints

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 7500 ghosts

To locate the tapper, walk east from the quest's starting point through the department store passage. Activate Ghost Sight at the first crossroads and follow the footsteps on the ground shown as soul tracks to the southeast. Eliminate the enemies in front of the corrupted tree, go up the stairs on the left and stay on the trail. Best to assassinate the visitors in the next area.

From the floating platform, glide to the blue glowing marker at the back center of the screen.

Then use the metal stairs to your left to reach a ladder that will lead you to the glass roof of the passage. There you will discover the next green soul marker. Follow the footprints again until you reach a kind of dimensional hole. As soon as you jump in, you will land on the roof of a skyscraper. Use KK's ghost vision to not lose the trail.

You can kill the floating ghosts on your way with windwebs. After that, you'll have to take an elevator to the sixth floor, balance over a steel beam and use your gliding ability to get to a floating, moving platform. There, look for a white gas container on a metal scaffold (see screenshot above).

Right next to it is the next soul track marker. Finally, balance over the glass floor, enter the mysterious door at the end, clean the soul tree, talk to the ghost boy and seal the dimension hole. VoilĂ , side mission accomplished!

Side Mission at Shiratsuki Shrine

Escape composition

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

Run east from the quest giver, eliminate the rain runner policeman with a stealth kill, and then follow the sound of piano music until you reach a house with dark green walls that has a piano-shaped sign on its garden fence. Beware: there are two ghosts patrolling right next to it - two more appear just before you enter the house entrance.

In "Curse Composition" you have to go through an enchanted music school.

Once inside, you'll need to locate three clues. Go to the second floor and find the room with a large wooden table in the middle. Hidden in the closet behind it is clue number one in the form of a diary. Clue two (a delivery bill) is slumbering in the storage closet and clue three on the bedroom desk.

Chat with the girl at the piano on the first floor and then analyze the right picture on the wall in the same room using ghost sight. As soon as you are asked who it is, answer "Giovanni". Then choose the dialog option "Was he jealous of her talent?", purify the phantom, talk to the girl and the case is solved.

Side Mission at Momokane Shrine

Art imitates life

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • Camera filter: watercolor
  • about 1500 ghosts

After an introductory explanation of the problem by a priest, leave the shrine in a northerly direction and turn right on the road. On the asphalt you should see an animated dragon. Run after it quickly until you reach a vortex in the ground. Seal it with a hand signal, wait for the dragon to reappear and run after it again until you reach a corrupted tree.

For the last fight of the side mission "Art imitates life" it is best to save an area-wide resonance attack (L3 R3).

Clean the tree, run straight down the stairs and master the fight at the next vortex. Then seal it again with a hand sign and continue in southwestern direction. There the ghost dragon has nested in a large house wall. Once this "dragon's lair" has also been sealed, march to the central street of the cemetery, at the end of which the last vortex appears.

The following fight will keep you busy for a few minutes and should not be approached lightly. Once the last hiding place of the ghost dragon has been sealed, you must report to the priest.

Side Mission at the Torii of Kappagaike

Old Wounds

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • about 1500 ghosts

Who or what caused the deaths at the bewitched construction site? To find answers to this question, first chat with the foreman ghost behind the entrance and then look for a stack of scaffolding pallets on the first floor. Climb up it to get to the second floor and from there to the second floor.

Kill all the ghosts on the second floor and then question the ghost bent forward. If you like, you can absorb more ghosts on the third floor and find an antique katana.

The best way to fight the Shiromuku is with fireballs.

Sneak back down to the first floor, finish off all the enemies, talk to the worker on the stairs and examine the stone altar near a blue tarp that hides building materials. As soon as you try to purify the phantom of the master, he drags you to a samurai mansion in the past. Talk to two more ghostly creatures here as well and finally head into the huge courtyard.

Here you will have a challenging duel with a Shiromuku - the ghost of an angry bridesmaid. Be careful: this enemy is very strong. Keep your distance to protect yourself from her paralyzing ice spells and quickly retrieve KK should she snatch it from you. Attack the Shiromuku preferably with fireballs, debuff talismans and arrows. Finally, purify the phantom and the lavish reward is yours.

Side Missions at Matsumi Shrine

Awkward situation

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

From the starting point, walk a few meters east and head left into the women's restroom and take the toilet paper from the middle restroom. Then go on to the men's toilet and look for a second toilet paper roll above a urinal. Talk to the ghost in the locked toilet and hand him the two rolls. Finally, have a chat with the ghost in the park in front of the toilet and the side mission is done.

Rokurokubi

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • 1 Magatama

From the starting point of the side mission, walk along the road in a southwesterly direction. As soon as you reach the first intersection, you'll see the Rokurokubi - the ghost of a woman with a very long neck. Follow her to the end of the alley and keep to the right. Now approach the creature again, which escapes again a little later, this time into a ventilation shaft.

It looks like a glowing streetlight, but it's actually the Rokurokubi.

Now activate the ghost view, turn a bit to the right and you should see a ladder next to a garbage can. Climb up and pull yourself to the edge of the roof. From there you'll see the Rokurokubi to the northeast of your position.

Then slide onto the adjacent roof including the slope, look for a ledge above a door with a red triangle symbol, and then nothing but up to absorb the spirit creature.

Side Missions at Kirigaoka Shrine

Kamaitachi

Reward:

  • 1000 mika
  • 1 Magatama

In this side mission, your task is to capture a weasel-like Yokai. The Kamaitachi starts not far from your starting position and then flits up the mountain, hovering. Follow him once to see where he rests near a small staircase. Once he disappears into the sky, you'll have to return to the starting point.

As soon as KK says "Stay on it until it stops. Got it?" you run. This is the only way to be fast enough to catch the Kamaitachi.

Once there, run straight back up the path to the point near the small stairs. Important: Start running before the Kamaitachi has started again. Then wait at the top of the stairs until the Kamaitachi appears and grab it by holding down the L2 key.

Ushi-no-kokumairi

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts

After starting the mission, march north and watch out for a phantom woman in the northwestern area of the search area who is pounding nails into a burning wooden doll. Once you approach her, lots of visitors will show up to keep you busy for a few minutes. Use the trees as cover from fire projectiles and heal promptly if injured. Then talk to the phantom woman, purify her, and report back to the quest giver.

The Dreaming Jewel

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts

A quick look at the map reveals that the diamond you're looking for is in a graveyard about three and a half blocks northeast of the starting position. Set a marker, run to it, and use Windwebs to fight all the ghosts in the air first.

At this grave is the diamond.

Then take care of the teru teru bozu, the dolls that shoot fireballs. When peace has returned, go to the exact center of the search circle. Now, with the help of the spirit sight, locate the tainted diamond and clean it. A short conversation with the diamond owner's ghost concludes the mission.

The Masks

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • 2 outfits: female mask, male mask
  • about 1000 ghosts

This side mission will appear only after you have mastered the side mission "The Dreaming Jewel", also given by the shopkeeper. After starting the mission, open the map, place a marker in the center of the search area and then probe this area for a house entrance with a white truck in front of it. There you will find the original owner of the mask.

Talk to him and walk north along the street, turn west at the end and the owner of the first mask, tells you that the mask is in the shed behind her. Kill the visitors, take the woman's mask and then quickly go to mask number two, which is stored in the Hitani shrine.

Don't waste any time, because you only have four minutes. Therefore, be sure to ignore enemies and collectibles along the way. Finally, fight all the enemies at Hitani Shrine, talk to the mask owner and enter the shrine. Wait a short while, purify the corruption and the second mask is yours as well.

Side Missions at Chishima Shrine

Source of Nightmares

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts

This side mission is about cleaning two wells. You can find the first one two streets north-northeast of you. Be sure to get there with full ammo, because one of the enemies is a hammer-wielding rain runner.

Don't let anything distract you on the way to the second well.

Once the first well has been cleaned, you have exactly three minutes to do the same with the second well. Therefore, don't bother with other things, such as collecting ghosts, and navigate straight to the second well with the help of the map. Attention: You can expect some resistance here as well!

Deadly Shadow

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • 1000 ghosts

In order to successfully complete this side mission, you should first fill up all your ether and arrow supplies. Also stock up on two weakening and two stunning talismans each. Then start the conversation between the two ghosts and activate the ghost view to find out who the doppelganger is. After that, full concentration is needed, because now enemies are coming from all sides.

During the first wave, try to save magic ammo by attacking the visitors from behind, which will drain the ghost's life energy. Also, use your arrows to take out rain runners with one headshot each. Use a stun talisman to quickly eliminate the visitor from behind with a hammer, always keeping an eye on the energy meter of the ghost you're protecting.

Side missions in the Utagawa shopping district

Nest of Evil

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • one Magatama
  • about 1000 ghosts

After chatting with the quest giver, walk down the street to the right of him until you reach the first intersection and turn right again. Follow this road north for a few meters until you see an 8-story building with numerous air conditioners on the outer facade and crows above the roof. Go right through the open wall and east along the building.

Behind this yokai is the entrance to the building from the Nest of Evil side mission.

If you leave the ghost view activated, you will discover a Yokai blocking the way inside. Once absorbed, enter the building through the portal. Follow the corridor, purify the first phantom and kill all the enemies on the first floor. After that you can not only clean the two phantom, but also pass the previously impenetrable barrier of office chairs.

On the second floor there are again two phantoms on your agenda. The first one hides behind a locked glass door that can be opened with the key from the bathroom. You will discover the second one when you get to the dilapidated part of the floor, duck into the continuing corridor and fight your way to the end of this area.

Once both phantoms are eliminated, you can go up to the second floor and purify the phantom there. However, the last pest on floor three won't make it easy for you. You can only get him if you neutralize all the visitors in the big meeting room. Finally, up the to the fourth floor and the nest of evil is history.

Kodama

Reward:

  • 1000 meika
  • Magatama

After starting this side mission, a small Kodama runs past you and hides inside the tree. Shortly after, numerous visitors appear and attack it. Fend them off while concentrating on the ones close to the tree. Tip: To the left of the bus stop hovers red ether, which you can detonate - preferably if there are several visitors next to it.

Side Mission at Yashin Shrine

The hidden basement

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • 1 magatama
  • about 1500 ghosts

First, make your way to the north side of the Shibuya Station building at the start of this mission. Reaching this location, look for an entrance with two glass double doors and a drink machine next to the left door. Go inside, activate KK Ghost Sight and locate the Yokai in the wall on the right.

Look for this entrance at the north wing of Shibuya Station, keep right inside and you will discover the entrance to the secret basement using Ghost Sight.

Absorb the yokai and you can advance to the secret basement. Once you've talked to the various ghosts downstairs and searched the area around the arcade machines, the "woman in red" appears and wants to get at you. However, she doesn't stand a chance against two stun talismans and just as many backhanded attacks.

Side Mission at Morite Shrine

Daughter seeks mother

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • Outfit: Officer
  • about 500 ghosts

Head northwest from the quest giver to the given search area until you reach a huge intersection with all sorts of neon signs. Under the skyscraper marked 429, you will see two rotten trees guarded by rain runners. Approach the trees from behind to get a clear shot at their weak points. Behind them hides the ghost of the mother you are looking for.

The stop in the nothing

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • about 1500 ghosts

Enter the subway station and make your way east until you reach an escalator. Go down to the middle of the platform and wipe out the various visitors. Then wait briefly for the subway to arrive and board the train on the east side of the platform.

We present: The stop in the middle of nowhere!

Once the train has stopped, walk in the direction of travel until you discover an open door on the left that leads to the abandoned station. Replenish your ether supplies once again and first fight the floating visitor with long hair lurking near the treetops. After that, purify the corruption of the tree and get ready for a protracted battle.

The most important basic rule in this battle is to take out the weak enemies first, then the stronger ones - otherwise you'll be surrounded too quickly. You'll also be less likely to take damage if you use stun talismans against the big hunks.

After the first big fight, quickly regenerate ether, then head to the subway and take down the suddenly appearing Scissors Lady with a combination of talismans and projectile attacks.

Multi-part side missions

Bloodthirsty Blossoms

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • 750 Spirits

The prelude to this 3-part side mission series will appear once you clean the Matsumi Shrine. After the gardener tells you about his problem, run to the cherry tree with the red leaves. The visitors that appear now will attack you in waves.

Ammo up between the waves and use the lush space in the middle of the park to dodge. After the fight, get close to the tree and perform the hand seal.

After saving the cherry trees, the square is a great backdrop to experiment with photo mode.

Bloodthirsty Blossoms - Mitake

Reward:

  • 5000 meika
  • about 750 ghosts

This mission becomes available once you've also cleared Onten Shrine, and basically plays out the same way as Bloodthirsty Blossoms: Approach the tree, defeat all the visitors and perform the hand sign. However, this time the enemies are more numerous and tougher.

However, precisely because so many visitors appear at the same time here, it's the ideal mission to get the PlayStation trophy "In One Blow", which is awarded when you snatch the core from five enemies at the same time.

Bloodthirsty Blossoms III

Reward:

  • 10.000 meika
  • 1500 spirits

Once the Akitsui Shrine has also been cleansed, you can embark on the third and final mission to clean up the tainted cherry trees. Before you do this, however, be sure to stock up on plenty of food, arrows, and stun talismans.

Beware: this mission hails fireballs from all sides. However, with a well-developed water weave attack, you can easily extinguish these attacks in battle. Save two stun talismans for the two ladies at the end!

The Hide and Seek

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

In this 3-part side mission you will get to the bottom of the disappearance of children. After the mission briefing, first go to the large square south of the Shibuya intersection, about 110 meters away. Next to a dragon statue, you'll meet a ghost boy who wants to play hide-and-seek.

In this phone booth in the Shibuya subway station, the boy has gone into hiding in the side mission "The Hide and Seek Game".

Agree and go to the entrance of the subway station, which is (at street level) a few meters east of you - turn left in the entrance area, walk to the end of the corridor and then left again up the stairs.

Eliminate the ghosts in front of the subway train and look for a photo booth to the left of the staircase. Activate the ghost view and you will see the boy behind the curtain of the booth.

The Hide and Seek II (Onten Shrine)

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • about 500 ghosts

After you complete the side mission "The Hide and Seek Game", the sequel to this short adventure will appear near the Onten Shrine. Start this side mission as well by accepting the boy's offer, and then head to the cat merchant who has set up store at the top right after the stairs to the shrine.

Run into the area behind his store and look for a small wooden shrine. The ghost boy is hiding inside, but has locked the door with a lock.

To retrieve the key, run back to the cat dealer and then from there head southeast to the second large area of the shrine. You can tell if you're right by a shrine roof with crows on it.

From the roof of the house south of the shrine, you'll glide to the key on the crow-covered shrine roof in no time.

Finally, you need to find a way onto the roof, because that's where the shrine key you're looking for is. Tip: Just south of the shr ine is a fire escape that will take you up to the roof of the adjacent building.

Climb up to the satellite dish and glide over to the shrine roof. Then collect the key and you can open the boy's hiding place. Another side mission done!

The Hideout III (Kamio Shrine)

Reward:

  • 7500 meika
  • about 1000 ghosts

At the end of the side mission "The Hide and Seek II", the ghost boy has made a run for it and is now waiting across the street from the cat merchant in the Kamino Shrine area.

Agree to search for him a third time and dash to the center of the green search circle south of the sub-mission starting point, specifically the phone booth. On the other side of the phone booth you will see the 7-story apartment building with the mini-market.

If you go into the mini-market and immediately out again, the entrance to the apartment building will be shown on the map. Quickly go inside, take the elevator to the 8th floor and you will come to a forest. Here you have to find the boy in four different places. The first time he hides in the wooden hut on the coast of the forest area.

The first hiding place: this wooden hut by the water.

The second time he hides on top of the highest of the tree platforms. To reach him, it's best to glide over from a rock at the same height. If that doesn't work right away, invest more talent points in your gliding ability.

The third hiding place is the most difficult to find. Return to the elevator, then enter the forest and run along the right edge of the area until you come across a fallen tree. Activate the ghost view and you will find the boy sitting huddled next to a large tree.

The fourth and final hiding place is again the wooden h ut on the coast. Exit the forest, listen to the dialogue between KK and Aktio and you will have solved the mystery of the missing children.

After the end

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • Camera filter: Retro 1
  • about 500 ghosts

In this side mission series - which must be completed before the start of the main mission "The Black Tower" - you have to investigate various locations in the city area for Rinko. Number one is located about 200 meters southeast of the starting position and can be reached most quickly by teleporting to the Nekomata store north of the search area.

In order to follow the girl's soul trace in peace, you must first send all the visitors in front of this police station to the other world.

Once at the destination (a large square with a tree in the middle), a girl's soul tracks will appear. Follow them to the entrance of the police station and defeat all the visitors there. Then resume following the tracks until the girl reaches the 429 high-rise building and sits down on a low stone wall there.

Now neutralize the enemies that appear and you will get a record for Ed about Erika at the girl's seat. Complete the mission when you take the call in the phone booth north of the 426 building.

After the end II

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • Camera filter: Monochrome 2
  • about 500 ghosts

This side mission pops up once you've checked off "After the End" and starts in the large square southwest of the Alle Go intersection in Shibuya. Pick up the phone in the ringing phone booth there and make your way to the roof of the 429 building from the previous mission.

From this tengu position, you can slide over to the roof of the 429 building just fine.

Tip for this: Analyze the map and look for a Tengu a bit southeast of the 429 building. From its position you can easily glide over. Now look for a small tent and climb over it onto the next roof.

At the top you can see the girl jumping. She leaves behind a trail of souls. Follow it until you find a dictaphone on another roof at the finish point.

Then go back to the next mission marker - a phone booth west of the starting point of the side mission "Plaguing Visions". It's named "After the End II" on the map and is indicated as already done, which unfortunately isn't true. Don't let this confuse you.

After the End III

Reward:

  • 3000 meika
  • Outfit: Tanuki drummer
  • about 500 ghosts

The starting point of this side mission is the ringing phone booth just south of Toyoi Shrine. Then head east to the middle of a bridge where Erika is looking down in front of a lattice fence. Activate the soul track using ghost sight and follow it until Erika is standing under a huge power pole in front of an entrance door with her left hand extended forward.

Go into the building, which will lead you to some kind of mind world. Collect the keychain with cat symbol from the desk. Before you can show it to Rinko, though, you'll have to beat back a slew of visitors. Finally, visit the phone booth where it all began and you're done.
