How to mute player & microphone

A tip for Destruction AllStars that can help you right out of the gate: Destruction AllStars uses the microphone and speakers of the PS5 controller for voice chat. By default, the feature is enabled. If you want to mute other players or yourself, follow these steps:

  • Mute other players: Press the PlayStation button and navigate to your current voice chat lobby in the tile menu. Press the square button to mute it.
  • Mute your own microphone: Press the small button below the PlayStation button on the DualSense controller. Now the light should glow orange - you are muted and other players can no longer hear you.

Not in the mood for lobby noise? Then turn off the chat and mic.

Play Destruction AllStars with friends - this is how it works

Creating a multiplayer party in Destruction AllStars and inviting your friends is pretty simple once you know how. Hold down the touchpad in the main menu. The corresponding instruction will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, but it's easy to miss. A menu will pop up where you can invite up to five other players - the maximum party size in Destruction AllStars is six players. Then wait until all the invitees have joined your party. After that, you can start matchmaking for an online mode of your choice.

Does Destruction AllStars have split-screen multiplayer?

Destruction AllStars is designed as a multiplayer game, but it is also heavily focused on online mode. Unfortunately, the PS5 game does not offer a splitscreen mode for couch co-op.

Change your car often

In Destruction AllStars, you spend most of your time in pimped-out battle cars, which you use to destroy your opponents. However, you can also leave your car and look for a new vehicle on foot. Do this regularly! New cars appear in the arena all the time and you should always try to adapt your vehicle to the best strategy of the moment.

Know your role

The one who reacts flexibly and can quickly adapt to changing situations with a new car wins in Destruction AllStars! Also means: Play each car the way it is meant to be played. A fat truck is not suitable for car chases, but it is worth its weight in gold when you have to deal out real damage. Conversely, with maneuverable cars, you should run away and attack specifically rather than going into full confrontation.

Know the advantages of the arenas

The arenas have different features and obstacles that you can use to your advantage. For example: run on foot over retractable bollards and barriers in the ground to raise them up and let chasers run up. And always look up, too: floating platforms offer you some safety as a pedestrian and allow you to make surprise attacks from above.

Depending on the arena and mode, you have to pay attention to different things. Know them all!

Learn to shake off opponents

Have an enemy jump on your roof and try to take over your car? You can shake him off by filling the blue bar above your car faster than your opponent fills the orange one! While your opponents are shown a key combination that they have to press, you have to move the left analog stick quickly back and forth from left to right. Be as precise as possible. If you succeed, the opponent will lose his grip and you can continue driving. If you fail, your vehicle will be wrecked or you will be thrown out of your car. In either case, you'll have to find a new one.

Practice precise dodging

If you are on foot and an enemy car comes dangerously close to you, you have two options: Jump over it or dodge it with the circle button. Both will save you, but dodging has another advantage: you can land on the car and try to take it over or wreck it if you succeed. This is one more option than jumping, so practice the dodge timing well - it can give you valuable advantage!

Destruction AllStars: Recommended Characters & Cars

The characters and cars in Destruction AllStars are very diverse. But: There are a few recommendations for heroes and heroines that are particularly worthwhile - depending on what your demands are, of course.

  • Bluefang does massive damage with his Breaker ability and can one-shot vehicles with a direct hit.
  • Jian and his Morningstar vehicle are perfect for you if you like to tease your opponents a bit, using mines and extendable spikes to punish them for coming near you.
  • Lupita's vehicle drags a trail of fire behind it, which can be especially costly to pedestrians.
  • Genesis is the fastest character in the game with her car Callisto. If speed is what you're after, you've come to the right place.
  • Well armored is half the battle: If you don't like taking hits, Ultimo Barricade is your first choice with its strong defense.

Is Destruction AllStars also available for PS4?
