Arcadia Bay, Eye of Providence & more

After your meeting with Hank Stamper, Brody Holloway will pick you up. Together you'll make your way to the "Three Seals" motel, but there's a stop at Arcadia Bay in between. Depending on the decision you made before the start of Life is Strange 2, you will be looking down on

  • A normal town. (You sacrificed Chloe for the good of Arcadia Bay )
  • A completely destroyed city. (You sacrificed Arcadia Bay for Chloe in Life is Strange)

If you've chosen the second option, a plaque also commemorates the people who died in the storm. In the "Three Seals" motel, you'll discover a map shortly after, on which you can trace your path so far. There's another reference to be discovered on it, namely to the Arcadia Bay lighthouse.

Memorial plaque for the victims of the storm

The Eye of Providence appears in Life is Strange 2 on a picnic table in the forest. This one-eyed triangle hides in several Life is Strange games. Three times this symbol can be concretely associated with Chloe Price.

When Chloe gives Max a ride in her car, you'll see the Eye of Providence just to the right of the heroine. Just below the rear window, Chloe has apparently drawn it with a felt-tip pen. In her room, you'll notice the symbol again to the left of Chloe's bed.

In Life is Strange: Before the Storm, she also wears a top emblazoned with this symbol. Rumor has it that Max and Chloe will make an appearance in Life is Strange 2, so perhaps the Eye of Providence alludes to that.

Another Easter Egg we understand is the name of the "Three Seals" motel. It reminded us of the restaurant called "Two Whales Diner" in Arcadia Bay. Joyce Price (Chloe's mother) works there as a waitress.

Family outing, Hawt Dag Man, PlayBox

If you played the free crossover to Life is Strange 2, you know the characters Charles, Emily, and Chris. In Captain Spirit you'll only meet father and son, mother Emily is already deceased by then. You will find the carving with Sean and Daniel on a picnic table in the forest. It seems to be from the year 2012.

At the toy vending machine in the gas station store you will find another reference to the free-to-play adventure. Daniel desperately wants you to win an action figure of "Power Bear" for him. This is another reference to The Fantastic Adventures of Captain Spirit.

The three names are an Easter Egg

Later, when you turn on the TV in the Three Seals Motel, Hawt Dawg Man flickers across the screen as an animated series. In Captain Spirit, for example, you'll find this drawn character in a mobile game after unlocking Chris' father's smartphone. If you interact with Charles' laptop, the character will also appear on a web page there.

Hawt Dog Man also appears frequently in Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, so it's not exclusively a reference to Captain Spirit. But that's the last time you've seen this character.

A clearer allusion is the PlayBox in the living room of the Diaz family. The console mixes the words PlayStation and Xbox. You'll find one in the closet in Charles Eriksen's (Chris' father) room.

Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 - All the allusions

Apart from the fact that the Eye of Providence makes a reappearance in the forest cabin (albeit in a modified form), the second episode holds another exciting Easter Egg. When Sean and Daniel want to board the train as stowaways, the number of the locomotive catches their eye. You already know the number combination 1337 from the first part.

If you look for the bottles in the junkyard, a corresponding locomotive will pass you by. The train that threatens to catch Chloe also bears this number. The locomotive from part two looks amazingly similar to the first one. Since both spin-offs are set in the same region, it could even be the same locomotive.
