Farming Simulator 17, also fondly called "LaWi" or "LS", is a farming simulation game from developer Giants Software. Despite its release on October 25, 2016 and its successor Farming Simulator 19(The Best LS19 Mods), many players continue to enjoy the 2016 version of the game.

Farming Simulator 17 Mods: An overview

Farming Simulator 17 came with many new features and improvements:

  • New map called "Goldcrest Valley"
  • Female characters are playable and clothing color can be changed
  • Pigs as a new type of animal
  • Both pigs and cows can reproduce if they are happy
  • Controllable trains transport goods

But that's not all, because with Farming Simulator 17 gradually appeared many new mods that added additional content to the game.

With maps, vehicles, objects, animals or even completely new game mechanics, the mod support brings you countless additional hours of gameplay not only on PC, but also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Thanks to the open approach of the developer Giants Software to the mod community, you can find countless mods available for download thanks to hobby programmers on the web.

With DLCs, you buy paid game content in addition to mods.

Already for its predecessor, Farming Simulator 15 (), there was a wide selection of different mods, which many players didn't want to do without in the newer parts. But this has also been remedied: a mod conversion gives you the opportunity to use your favorite modifications from Farming Simulator 15 in Farming Simulator 17 as well.

Giants itself provides the Giants Editor, which automatically converts standard mods. However, this is not possible for more complex mods for Farming Simulator 15, so you have to rewrite the scripts manually.

Where can I download mods for the LS17?

Besides the official website, there are many other sites that specialize in downloadingmods for Farming Simulator. You don't have to pay anything for them. Thanks to an industrious community, new content appears regularly, which always offers an interesting variety and completely new possibilities. This way you can customize the game more and more and adjust it to your needs and plans.

How do I install mods in LS17?

The installation of the mods is very simple. They differ only minimally by the different file extensions. However, this is not witchcraft and quickly explained. Here is a brief overview of how you can add the respective files to your game:

New Holland Baler package

If it is an .exe file, you only have to start the application by double-clicking on it. If it is a .zip file, it is either already the mod itself or you will find an .exe file again. If the .zip file is the mod you just have to move it to the mod directory under Computer/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2017/mods. When you start the game now the new content is directly playable.

A .rar file you just have to unzip. Mostly a .zip file or an .exe file will appear. The already downloaded new vehicles and gadgets end up in the dealer menu, which you can call up by pressing the P key. If you can't find the new items, you'll have to quit the game briefly and restart it again. After that, you just have to pay with your in-game money and you can try out your new mod.

On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it's even easier. Simply select the "Mods" category in the main menu. There you will find a wide range of downloadable modifications for your game. Farming Simulator Championship

If you need a break from tilling the fields, you can try Farming Simulator Championship. To use the mod you need at least four friends, with one of them acting as a host. It cannot be used on a dedicated server.

Once everyone is gathered, the timer can be started by pressing the Enter key. Your team of three players has the task of baling bales and stacking them on the bale cart in the shortest time possible. Once you have loaded 20 bales, the vehicles must be parked again at the starting area.

Farming Simulator Championship

The host can stop the timer by pressing the Enter key again or reset it by pressing the Backspace key. Try to coordinate as a team and beat the best time.
