Rainbow Six Extraction: Enemies & their weak points in the guide

In the Rainbow Six Extraction enemy guide you will learn:

  • Which Archaea types there are in the game
  • Which tactics you can use to defeat the creatures
  • Where the weak points of the enemies are
  • Which operator is the best way to counter the different Archaea types

In R6-Extraction the world is attacked by aliens. The alien life forms are called Archaea and appear in a wide variety of forms. At the beginning of the game you'll have to deal with the more harmless variants, but in the later missions you'll have to deal with the more dangerous ones, which can quickly destroy an entire team.

For basic tips on the co-op shooter, we recommend our Rainbow Six Extraction tips.

Fighter

  • Weak point: Head

The Strider is more or less the "normalo"variant ofan Archaea - the most common enemy form. Strikers can be taken out with a well-placed headshot. A single Striker may seem harmless, but a whole pack of them can quickly become a problem. Two to three hits are usually enough to send you to the boards.

Marksman

  • Weak point: Head

Marksmen have a similar appearance to the fighters, but they only use ranged attacks to finish you off. Their weak point, the head, the shooters try to cover with their other arm. Take out the shooters before they become alerted, or try to flank them.

The shooter's weak spot is protected by the other arm.

Blaster

  • Weak point: back

Sprenger also appear very frequently and are primarily characterized by a glowing red bubble on their back. If this bubble is damaged, the blaster explodes. The explosion can blow away walls and reinforcements without any problems. Letting a blaster get through can thus quickly topple the entire defense.

However, the explosion of blasters can also harm other Archaea. Many blasters in a pile can be blown to kingdom come with a single shot. If you want to prevent an explosion, you must aim for the head. A melee attack will knock the blasters back.

Blaster

  • Weak point: Back

Verseucher actually look the same as Sprenger, but have a green glowing bubble instead of a red one. If the bubble is damaged, the Verseucher explodes, leaving behind a toxic cloud of gas. If you stand in the gas cloud, you will suffer continuous damage. So quickly pick up your feet and try not to get close to exploding infiltrators. Headshots and melee attacks work just as well here.

Blasters and scorchers can be killed silently with a headshot.

Lurker

  • Weakness: Head

The head of lurkers looks like a flower. They can make themselves and other archaea invisible. The lurker can fold in the scale-like armor plates on its head to protect its weak spot. Uses Hibana's special abilityto blow up the lurker. If you don't have a Hibana on your team, you can use a melee attack to expose the weak spot.

Blender

  • Weak point: Torso

Blenders crawl across the ground like spiders and can place small red mines. If you run into a mine, you will be blinded for a few seconds - so pay close attention to your surroundings. If you have alerted a Blender, it will try to attack you in a careless moment. Otherwise, Blenders tend to be passive-aggressive and circle around you for a while.

The Blender's weak point is its torso. The Blender tries to protect it with its armored head. Wait until the Blender rears up to call for help to get a clear view of the belly. A few shots to the alien's flank can also take down the beast.

When alerted, the Blender rears up and exposes its weak spot.

Wurzler

  • Weak point: Neck

As the name suggests, the Wurzler has something plant-like about it. The Wurzler also crawls across the ground and has a special attack where it chases rootlets through the ground. If you are hit, your movement will be severely limited for a few seconds.

The Wurzler's weak point is its neck. So try to flank or distract the beast so a teammate can hit the neck. Smoke grenades and stun grenades are also a good way to make the Wurzler vulnerable to a knife strike.

Rooters

  • Weakness: Back

The Rager is a huge, lumbering tank that can do tremendous damage with its strong arms. You can take advantage of the Archaean's inertia and keep the beast at bay. Watch out for the fury's special attack, which sends it hurtling in your direction at breakneck speed.

Since the weak spot is on its back, teamwork is required. Lure the Rage into your direction while a team member sneaks up from behind and knocks out the Archaean's lights with a well-aimed knife strike.

Indoors, the Rage can only use its rush with difficulty.

Tormentor

  • Weakness: Stun/Smoke Grenades

Tormentors are among the most dangerous Archaea and present themselves as long, thin turrets. If you encounter a Tormentor, you should immediately tag it for the rest of your team. Tormentors fire slow-flying projectiles that cause tremendous damage. Dodge the projectiles and keep moving constantly when in combat.

The special ability of the tormentor is to liquefy and scurry across the ground as a puddle. Follow the puddle and wait for the tormentor to return to its normal form to deal damage. Stun grenades or smoke grenades in combination with the knife are the best way to incapacitate the tormentor.

Prince

  • Weakness: Nonexistent

The Prince is the leader of the Archaea, which he shows very clearly in battle. The Prince is stronger than any other Archaee we've listed so far, and therefore can only be found in the hardest missions. His special ability allows him to continuously summon new nests from which new Archaea hatch.

In combat, the prince fires projectiles that can blind you. Also, the alien scurries across the battlefield extremely fast, which makes escape extremely difficult. Alibi's special ability is the best counter here. The holograms will make sure that the Prince and the Archaea are distracted, so you can concentrate all your firepower to eliminate him quickly.

Proteus is the only enemy with a separate life bar.

Proteus

  • Weakness: Nonexistent

Proteus is the most powerful alien and is more like a ghostly anomaly than an ordinary Archaean. To find a Proteus at all, you need the appropriate objective, which will lead you to an orange portal. When you enter the portal, you will have to deal with the Proteus.

A Proteus takes on the appearance of a corrupted operator and has a variety of attacks. Furthermore, the Proteus can create clones and move quickly across the map. In combat, you and your team will have to give your all, and you'll have to combine your attacks and abilities well to ultimately win.
