Outriders Level Cap: What is the maximum level?

In Outriders you can level up your character to level 30. Once you have reached the maximum, you will no longer receive XP for your character level and the blue level bar at the top of the screen will disappear. At level 30, you will also unlock the last skill points to place in your skill tree. At level 30 you can play the end game of Outriders, the so-called expeditions.

The maximum world level in Outriders is level 15, which controls the difficulty and quality of the loot you receive from enemies and quests.

Outriders: These activities will earn you XP

In Outriders you can earn experience points in three different ways:

  • Complete missions in the main story
  • Complete the optional side missions
  • Kill enemies - each kill will drop a bit of XP

You can repeat both main and side quests and play them again at higher world levels. To replay side quests, pick them up in the game world at the same place where you got them the first time. Not only do you get XP for completing them again, but you also get loot as a reward. You can restart main quests from the lobby by selecting the section you want to enter under "Select Story Point".

Select main story missions here to replay them.

Level up fast: Best missions & strategies

In general, you should play through the story first in Outriders. Depending on how many side quests you complete during this time, you may already have reached the maximum level of 30 after completing the final battle. If this is not yet the case, follow one or more of the following strategies:

  • Play side missions again - ideally those in which you have to kill as many enemies as possible. For example, the side mission "Revenge" in the first large area Rift Town is well suited, in which you defeat a bunch of enemies and a captain in only two areas.
  • The special side quests "Hunter" and "Wanted" are also a good source of XP. There are ten of each of these quests, and they all lead you into short skirmishes with lots of enemies and drop loot to boot. Once you've completed all ten missions of a type, you can reset the quest line and start over. Typically, completing all ten quests of a type will also earn you a piece of legendary equipment.
  • Replay certain parts of the main quest where you have to defeat many or strong enemies. The "Fight your way through the rebel fortress" section in Eagle Peaks is a good example. Load the save game, kill all the enemies, return to the lobby, load it again, and repeat. Also good to do: the story point "Push the rebels back into No Man's Land" in the Trench Town area.
  • If you don't mind monotony in leveling, use the following trick: load the "Find the Chrysalism Mutant" story point in the Forest Enclave area again, lower the world level to 1 and defeat the boss as soon as possible. Reload the save game and repeat the procedure. Each time you defeat the enemy, you will be credited with more than 1500 XP and some loot on top of that.

It is better to defeat bosses on a low world level to level up - otherwise the fights will take too long and won't be worth it

At which world level should I level?

The question of which world level is the most effective is not so easy to answer. Basically, speed is everything! If your build is so good that you can mill through the hordes of enemies on the highest unlocked world level, then choose the highest level - there you will get the most experience per enemy.

However, if you have problems killing enemies quickly with your build, then it's better to lower the world level a bit. You'll get less XP per enemy, but the higher speed will ideally compensate for this loss. This is especially true for missions like the aforementioned main quest "Push the Rebels Back to No Man's Land" in Trench Town, which is best played at a low enough world level so that the many strong enemies can't harm you and you don't have to stay in cover.

If you really want to play at the optimum level, you can of course make small-scale calculations and find the perfect balance for maximum efficiency. Our tip: The ideal world level for leveling is the one where you have the most fun and where the challenge feels best in relation to the reward. Just keep in mind that if you want to level your world at the same time as your character level, you'll need to play at the highest possible world level!

Outriders World Leveling: The Best Tips & Tricks

You've reached level 30, but you haven't increased your world level to the maximum level of 15 yet? There are a few strategies for that as well. First of all, the following is important:

  • You only get XP for your world level by killing enemies, not by completing quests. Enemies you kill during quests still count, of course.
  • You will only get world level experience in a level section if you make it to the end alive. If you die, you lose the progress you've made and a bit of the world level you've earned so far. So you should avoid dying at all costs.
  • Also note that you will only receive world level progress if you play at the highest level you have unlocked so far.
  • In the final game of Outriders, the expeditions, you cannot level up the world level - here there is a completely new level system, the so-called challenge levels.

To level up the world level in Outriders, there is a very clear recommendation: Play the story point "Reach the Other Riverbank" in the First City area again and again. The small Perforo enemies that harass you here are easy to defeat and so numerous that you can earn good XP for the world level. If you get bored doing this: Other missions with Perforos or other monster enemies are also suitable - the main thing is that you have as many of them as possible in front of the shotgun!

Less practical are missions with enemies that take cover and attack from a distance: Running around the battlefield to catch them all will only cost you time.

Outriders Worldslayer: what do Apocalypse ranks do?

With Outriders Worldslayer, the developers have integrated a new system into the game: Apocalypse Ranks. They replace the world levels, but work very similarly to the old system and become accessible as soon as you unlock the expeditions.

The Apocalypse Ranks scale the difficulty level of the game. They grant you better loot, more experience points per rank and additional stats improvements - but at the same time they increase the strength of the enemies. The higher you climb, the more modifiers your enemies receive. For example, at the lower ranks, your enemies get more life or increased damage - at higher Apocalypse ranks, they get better accuracy or life drain from weapons.

The Apocalypse ranks improve your chance to get strong loot - but also the strength of your enemies.

You start at Apocalypse Rank 1 and gradually unlock up to 40 ranks. By killing monsters, you gain experience points and thus rise in rank.

Also, only at the new ranks will you get the special Apocalypse items. These are more powerful variants of the epic and legendary items that not only have higher stats, but also a third mod slot.
