Halo Infinite's multiplayer has been released as a beta three weeks before the official release. It is already the entire free-to-play multiplayer of the latest Halo. We have helpful tips that will help you get started without any problems.

Train with bots

In Halo Infinite, 343 Industries have included numerous ways to train for multiplayer. Firstly, there are the weapon drills, where you try out different weapons, as well as a training mode where you compete against bots. Playing with bots sounds boring, but this way you practice using the different weapons and get to know the maps at the same time.

In the training mode you'll also practice fighting with the particle sword.

During a training match, you can adjust the selection of your weapons, gadgets, and the number and strength of the bots in the options menu. The changed settings take effect immediately. Thus, you can also try out different weapons and settings during a match. You can also activate and deactivate infinite ammunition and invincibility at will.

Scan your environment

All Spartans in Halo Infinite are equipped with a scanner. This will reveal the locations of weapon and gadget spawns to you. However, the positions of weapon lockers are not revealed to you. On Xbox controllers, you activate the scan with the lower arrow key on the D-pad, while on PC it is Z by default.

The scanner reveals weapons as well as the spawns of gadgets.

Periodically scan your surroundings for dropped weapons and gadgets. The scanner will also show you if a weapon is already available at its spawn point.

Prioritize power weapons and gadgets

Particularly powerful weapons such as rocket launchers and various gadgets such as the grappling hook or the active cloak spawn on the playing field. The weapon and gadget spawns are fixed on each map. Controlling these powerful items gives you an advantage. So remember the spawn positions of the weapons and gadgets and keep an eye on the spawn timer.

The timer shows you when a weapon spawns.

Other players will see the spawn timer as well. So be prepared for enemy contact when the spawn timer expires. Also, if you are playing with friends, you should always go to the power weapons and gadgets at least in pairs.

Watch your radar

You can find the radar at the bottom of the screen on the left side. This shows you enemies in the vicinity. All enemies that move or shoot normally are shown as red dots on the radar. But this also applies to you! Sneak so that you don't get picked up on the enemy's radar.

Play in a team

In the various deathmatch modes, teamwork is secondary, but in objective-based modes like Capture the Flag, good team play is the key to success. The new ping system allows you to communicate rudimentarily without a microphone. Use it to mark enemies, vehicles, and weapons for your teammates.

Ping enemies so your teammates know where to go!

You can also drop weapons. This is especially useful when dealing with weaker teammates. Collect a strong power weapon for them and pass it on to help them out a bit. Even if you already carry a power weapon, it makes more sense to give a newly collected power weapon to your teammates, because that way the whole team can dish out more.

With a good shooter, the Warthog becomes a major threat on the battlefield.

Many vehicles, such as the Warthog or Mongoose, have room for two to three passengers. Don't use Warthogs as one-person cabs to get from point A to point B. Gather players to man the gun and passenger seat, then head out on patrol or to the objective. Use the horn to signal teammates that you want them on board.

Tips for combat in Halo Infinite multiplayer

Of course, in Halo Infinite you will spend most of the time in a match in firefights. Here we have a few tips for fighting.

Always keep moving

Always move back and forth in firefights, jump to avoid grenades if necessary, and take advantage of cover options. Unlike in Call of Duty Vanguard, for example, Spartans can withstand quite a lot, but move more ponderously. And since the weapons are projectile-based, you'll worsen the enemy's hit chance by constantly running back and forth.

Use grenades

All players start with two frag grenades. Plasma grenades, dynamo grenades, and the spiked grenades are also distributed on the field. You can carry up to two times two different types of grenades. Grenades can be used in many ways: You can throw them at enemies, blow up vehicles (plasma grenades are especially good for this!) or scare enemies out of hiding.

The spiked grenade kills enemies instantly with a precise landing.

Even if you are in a firefight at a fairly close distance to the enemy, it makes sense to throw grenades. Thus, you'll do additional damage to your shots or even manage to destroy his shield.

Grenades like plasma grenades and spiked grenades kill automatically if you let them stick directly to the enemy. However, for this you will have to throw them very precisely.

Hit the enemy in close combat

Spartans are incredibly strong super soldiers - accordingly, a blow is also powerful. Two melee hits are enough to finish off an enemy. However, the most efficient way to use the punch is in combination with a firearm. Shoot the enemy until his shield is destroyed and then strike to finish him off.

For the Two Piece attack, you must first destroy the shield.

With the Bulldog shotgun you can perform the infamous Two Piece attack. Shoot the enemy once at medium to close range to destroy his shield. You can tell that the armor has been breached by the sparkling lightning on the Spartan's armor. Then you'll strike a death blow. This is how you kill enemies with just one shotgun blast.
