Since 2000, the Hitman series has been thrilling all fans of stealth games. As in the predecessor games, many paths lead to the goal in Hitman 2 - or better: to the death of the victims. 1. Hitman 2: Release date, platforms and system requirements PC

Hitman 2 is set to release on November 13, 2018 for the PS4, XBox One, and PC

In addition to the Standard Edition, there will be a Silver Edition and a Gold Edition. For PS4 and Xbox One, there will also be a Collector's Edition, which comes in a weapons case in true style. The Collector's Edition for PC is currently not available in Germany.

Both console versions are available for download or on disc. Hitman 2 for PC is available for download on Steam.

To be able to experience the game on PC, your computer must meet at least the following system requirements:

  • Operating system: OS 64-bit Windows 7
  • Processor: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz / AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940
  • Working memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 / Radeon HD 7870

For full Hitman 2 enjoyment, the manufacturer's recommendation is:

2. Quiet and deadly: This is what Hitman 2 is all about

Hitman 2 is a classic stealth game in third-person perspective, where you have pretty much all the freedom you can imagine. You play Agent 47, a hitman who is on the hunt for the mysterious Shadow Client and wants to blow up his militia

So your job is to kill. You'll be given targets that you have to get around the corner as discreetly as possible. How you do that is up to you. The game is divided into five missions that take place in different sandbox locations. In addition to the normal targets, there are elusive targets that are particularly challenging. 3. Who is Agent 47, anyway?

The protagonist of the Hitman series, and thus also of Hitman 2, is Agent 47. The world's deadliest hitman has a characteristic look: he is bald and prefers to dress in a black suit and red tie. Agent 47 wears a tattooed barcode on the back of his head: 640509-040147.

Agent 47 is no ordinary assassin, but a clone created by genetic engineering from the DNA of five other men in a Romanian laboratory. Agent 47 is the last survivor of his kind. In the game he slips into all sorts of disguises to be able to move inconspicuously. Besides, he uses aliases to disguise his identity.

4. These are the innovations in Hitman 2

Unlike its predecessors, Hitman 2 is not divided into episodes, but comes directly "in one piece". In six different missions, different targets have to be killed. In addition, there are two multiplayer modes for the first time, Sniper Assassin and Ghost Mode, one cooperative and one 1-on-1 mode.

In the previous games, it was already possible to be creative and use the environment, objects, etc. for the kills. In Hitman 2, the level design and the possibilities for interacting with the environment have been improved even more. There are also the following interesting new features:

  • Better camouflage: Agent 47 can hide even better, for example in crowds.
  • Better overview: With the new picture-in-picture elements, immediately see when a body is found and where.
  • More weapons and disguises: You can improvise weapons and use many new disguises for camouflage.
  • Return of the briefcase: weapons and other items can be smuggled into the target area in the briefcase.

5. What does the Hitman 2 Legacy Pack include?

At the same time as the main game, a DLC will be released with the Legacy Pack. Fans of the series can rejoice: the DLC contains the six locations from the predecessor in a revised and improved version. This lays the foundation for what the developers call the "World of Assassination": All the new features of Hitman 2 will also be available for the Season 1 content.

Accordingly, the remastered locations in the Legacy Pack are Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido. For those who have already played Hitman under their account, the DLC is free. Those who own the Game of the Year or Definitive edition will even be rewarded with additional locations and campaigns.

6. What is Hitman: Sniper Assassin?

The biggest innovation in Hitman 2 are the two multiplayer modes, which for the first time make it possible to play the game with friends - or against other players. Sniper Assassin is a cooperative multiplayer mode.

Sniper Assassin is all about cooperation. You sit together with your colleague at an elevated point, equipped with sniper rifles, of course. From up there, you'll have an area in your sights where you'll have to take out targets. At the same time you should cause as little attention as possible or even shoot other people

You get points for the kills, and bonus points for co-op kills. Coordinate with each other, who will take which target, and keep a low profile - if you attract too much attention, you'll have to flee.

7. What's behind Ghost Mode

Ghost mode is a new competitive multiplayer mode. You compete online with another player. In this 1-on-1 mode, both players take on the role of Agent 47.

In the end, the winner is the first player to complete all of the makesfive required kills. Once again, creativity is required. While you play, you'll see the second player walking around as a ghostly apparition. So you can always see how far your competitor has gone and where he is, without being able to influence each other.

8. A million ways to die: How to take out your opponents

In Hitman 2 you can assassinate more creatively than ever before. The developers have deliberately designed the game so that you can interact with the environment in every possible way. Decide for yourself how to kill your victim.

Be creative, follow the laws of physics and use the environment. The classic headshot with the sniper rifle or sneaking up and overpowering from behind are of course always possible. But beyond that, there is the possibility for every player to develop their own strategy

9. What locations are there in Hitman 2?

Hitman 2 comes with several hyper-realistically designed sandbox locations where players can freely move around and interact with the world.

10. What does Sean Bean have to do with Hitman 2?

In the latest Hitman 2 trailer, the game was promoted by a prominent person. This is no coincidence: Sean Bean, known from Lord of the Rings (as Boromir) and Game of Thrones (as Eddard Stark) himself appears as one of the Elusive Targets in Hitman 2

Sean Bean is known for his spectacular deaths and can now be creatively killed by players themselves. The character is nicknamed "The Undying", an ironic name given Bean's dying career in movies and series. The Undying is designed after the features of Sean Bean.

11. Will there be a Hitman 2 movie?

In 2015, Hitman: Agent 47, a movie based on the games, hit theaters. The flick starring Rupert Friend was unfortunately more of a flop. Last year, there were now rumors that there could still be a Hitman 2 movie

However, looking for a Hitman 2 movie trailer or a release date is (still) futile effort: so far, there are no official plans for a sequel
