Apex Legends Lifeline: How to play the combat medic

In our character guide to Apex Legend s we tell you:

  • how to best use Lifeline's passive ability
  • how to tactically use Lifeline's shield wall in battle
  • how to brave the storm with the healing drone
  • why the ultimate accelerators are so important for Lifeline

Lifeline, the sarcastic medic, is especially strong in the early game and therefore a good choice for beginners in Apex Legends.

However, she is not only convincing as a support, but can also use her abilities on the front line. We'll tell you how to use Lifeline to strengthen your team.

Apex Legends Lifeline - Passive Ability: Combat Medic

As a combat medic, Lifeline uses healing objects - such as syringes or shield batteries - 25% faster. Use this ability to briefly retreat in fights, heal quickly, and push back toward enemies with full armor.

Only players with a golden backpack can use healing objects even faster due to the 50% boost the backpack grants. This effect cannot be combined with Lifeline's passive ability. Also, a Lifeline with a golden backpack gets the highest 50 percent boost on using healing objects.

In addition, Lifeline revives her teammates faster and also puts up an indestructible shield wall in front of her. So if possible, always stay with your squad and don't go on solo trips through the Apex games.

Always point the shield wall in the direction of possible sources of danger.

The shield wall when resurrecting teammates is always placed in the direction you are facing. Always try to resurrect your teammates so that the shield is between you and the enemy. If possible with a wall behind you.

You can also use the shield tactically in a firefight. If an enemy shoots at your shield while you are reanimating a comrade, wait until his magazine is empty. As soon as the enemy needs to reload, cancel the resurrection and return fire. This should give you enough of a time advantage to defeat the enemy.

Apex Legends Lifeline - Tactic Ability: DDM Drone

Lifeline's tactic ability summons a DDM (Drone of Compassion) healing drone that heals you and your allies over time. At 60 seconds, it is the tactic ability with the longest cooldown. So think carefully when you use the drone and don't waste it. But at the same time, pay attention to the life bars of your colleagues and provide them with the drone regularly.

The drone will heal you and your teammates.

If you are near the drone, a tube will dock on you and it will start restoring your life energy. If you move forward slowly, the drone will follow you; however, as soon as you sprint, the connection will be cut and the drone will stop.

The healing drone is also great to use in conjunction with your passive ability in combat. If you are hit, you can retreat, activate the drone and use shield cells or a shield battery at the same time. This way you'll be ready for battle again in no time.

You didn't pay attention to the time and the storm overtakes you? No problem with Lifeline in your team. The drone can heal the first two phases of the storm and bring your team safely into the ring.

Disadvantages of the DDM healing drone are that it heals not only your squad but also enemies and is very loud. Its noise attracts enemies, who then like to cover you with grenades. Therefore, always keep an eye on your surroundings while using it.

Apex Legends Lifeline - Ultimate Ability: Care Package

You ignore the Ultimate accelerators normally? With Lifeline, you should take and use them whenever possible. The ultimate ability requests a care package, but it has a six-minute cooldown. So, especially at the beginning of the round, you should use every ultimate accelerator to get the care package as quickly as possible.

The care package can contain all sorts of useful equipment - such as armor, shield batteries, or weapon attachments. The only items you will never find in Lifeline's care package are weapons or golden armor pieces.

Retrieve your care package as soon as possible, as it may contain valuable equipment.

As with the random supply drops on the map, however, you should keep your eyes open, as a care package will naturally attract the attention of enemies.

In the endgame, when you are well equipped, the care package doesn't make too much sense anymore. At most, you can still use it to lure enemies into a trap or, with a lot of luck, even land a kill. The care package is deadly if it falls on a player's head. However, for every player, yourself included.

Lifeline, with her abilities, is not only the perfect support character to make the beginning of each round much easier for your team, she can take care of herself just as well. With her passive ability, she's ready to fight again as quickly as possible after battles, giving opponents no respite.
