Ni No Kuni 2: Tips to effectively collect experience points

At the latest when you have survived the still quite harmless tutorial areas in Ni No Kuni 2, you will quickly notice that in the world of Ding Dong Dell one or the other tough enemy chunk is waiting.

Fortunately, the game shows you this before every fight. The monster level is emblazoned above the nasties and turns red when things could get dicey. The nasty thing about it is that enemies that have spotted you will attack you, so escape is not always possible.

At the same time, the creatures that crawl around far below the level of your hero group will leave you alone. Or it will serve you as an easy source of experience points.

That's why we'll give you some tips on how to collect experience points. This way you can get into this situation as quickly as possible or at least command a powerful hero squad.

How to collect experience points in Ni No Kuni 2

In general, the best way to earn experience points is through battles, or more precisely, by defeating opponents. By the way, it's worth taking a closer look at the so-called battle equalizer before the fights. In addition, you can also increase the level of your protégés through quests. It doesn't matter whether you follow story missions or complete a side mission.

In the battles, all three of your heroes will collect experience points that you have currently selected. It doesn't matter if one character alone slays all monsters while the other two look stupid. Or whether all three are equally motivated to swing their blades. Everyone gets experience points for a won battle.

However, the number of monsters a character defeats has an influence on the amount of points bagged. Admittedly, they are divided up. However, Ni No Kuni 2 rewards the character with proportionally more points that has smashed a lump of slime than another one that just stood by.

That's why it's advisable to keep switching the hero you control. As a rule, the AI heroes in Ni No Kuni 2 act a bit more reserved than you. This way, you can make sure that all characters level up at roughly the same rate.

How to change your heroes in Ni No Kuni 2

If you want to swap your heroes to level them up evenly, then look in the "Group" menu, which you'll find directly under "Equip".

In it, all the available characters are listed, with which you'll be able to set out into the huge world and the battles in it.

The first three in the list are the three heroes you'll take with you on the adventure. The top prot égé is the one you control yourself. The other two are controlled by the computer.

As a rule, you can arrange the order and thus your group of heroes as you wish. Exceptions are some of Ni No Kuni 2's story missions, which, for example, require you to play as Evan or Roland.

Therefore, make sure to switch regularly here, so that all characters remain equally strong. Besides, you'll also be able to experiment with different abilities and weapons to equip each hero effectively. We'll tell you how to earn money to buy new weapons in another section.

If you follow these basic tips, you should have no problems commanding a powerful squad in a short time. However, do you need help with the knowledge test that Evan has to pass in order to get his guard Lemmi? Then check out our Complete solution of all three puzzles of the Test of Knowledge.
