In GreedFall , a mysterious plague, the so-called Malichor, plagues your continent. As the player, you set out in search of a cure on the spared island of Tír Fradí. But this island is full of dangers: Huge monsters, indigenous peoples and conflicts between the dominant factions, present you with unforeseeable challenges.

Explorers are rewarded in GreedFall

The world of GreedFall is not only large, but also rich in secrets and puzzles. Loot can be found in every corner of GreedFall, so look around carefully. Some of it you can collect directly, others are in locked treasure chests that you have to crack first.

For this you need the skill "lock picking". At the beginning of the game, you only have one talent point to give, which you can invest in it most sensibly. In the very first town, Sérène, you'll find a dozen treasure chests that you can open with just one point in "Lock Picking".

Two other important talents are Strength and Science. Strength allows you to make long jumps, some of which open up new areas. With Science, you'll bring down weak walls, exposing secret areas and hiding places.

GreedFall: The best tips for fighting and traveling

The battles in GreedFall can quickly become confusing and hectic. Therefore, use your tactical break as often as necessary. Meanwhile, you can think of a battle plan and put the most important potions, spells and weapons on hotkeys.

Ranged weapons are very powerful, as long as you always have enough ammo.

Firearms and spells are especially powerful at the beginning of the game. With them you'll do a lot of damage from a safe distance and even stun the enemy for a short time. As the game progresses, the enemies will become more numerous and aggressive, so you'll almost always be harassed by them. Melee weapons and abilities become increasingly important as a result, so you shouldn't disregard them.

What you shouldn't have too much of is all the other stuff. Thick armor, hammers, two-handed swords and other equipment will put an enormous strain on your carrying capacity. At the beginning you will only have a capacity of 300, which will be reached after a few quests. Therefore, regularly sell weaker equipment at the merchant or store it in your house.

Tips on weapons, armor and balance in GreedFall

If you are comfortable in melee combat, you should pay attention to two special stats besides damage: Wrath generation and armor damage. Wrath generation shows how much wrath you get per attack. The higher the value, the better.

When your wrath bar is 50 you can perform the special attack of your equipped weapon. At 100%, you can use the special attack multiple times or perform a special ability, but you have to unlock it first.

Since almost every enemy in GreedFall has armor, the armor damage value is very important. Once an enemy's armor is completely destroyed, your attacks will do extra damage. Only then does the actual attack damage of the weapon kick in.

The enemies also take a good beating. For this reason, a high balance value is important in all fights. It prevents you from being knocked back or stunned after blows. Therefore, we recommend that you choose the Stamina attribute to start with, since it gives you an additional 100 health points and increases the balance value.

GreedFall: Persuade and manipulate

GreedFall gives you the freedom to solve conflicts in several ways. So if you are less interested in fighting and more interested in convincing and manipulating, skill your hero accordingly. The talents Charisma and Intuition open up new dialogue options, allowing you to complete many quests without bloody slaughter.

Your outfit will determine how you are received by other factions.

Conflicts can also be avoided by choosing the right outfit. For example, if you want to enter the territory of an enemy faction, you can avoid conflict by putting on the appropriate faction clothing. Alternatively, you also have the option of sneaking into the enemy camp.

The sneak function is also useful in combat to surprise opponents from behind or to get into strategically favorable positions.
