Difference between centrosome and centromere
Introduction

What is the centrosome?
The centrosome is a Cell structure present in all eukaryotic cells that is responsible for the organization and separation of the filaments of cell division. It is made up of two centrioles that are found in a lighter, more spherical area of the cell called the cytoplasm. The centrosome is necessary for the development of cilia and flagella, cell motility, cell division, change of cell shape and associates with microtubules.

What is the centromere?
The centromere is the region on the chromosome where two chromatids join and is the site where the kinetochore is located, a protein structure that is responsible for the attachment of microtubules during mitosis. The centromere is found in a specific and constant position on each chromosome.

- Holds the two chromatids together
- It is the site where the kinetochore is located and links with microtubules during mitosis
- Ensures the correct distribution of chromosomes in daughter cells during cell division
