There are many different side quests awaiting you in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (). In one of these side quests, Muten Roshi's turtle, also affectionately known as "Schildie", asks you for help. The old Muten Roshi has once again squandered all the food.

Since Son Goku got all the food in the Kame house, his son Gohan feels responsible to help the talking sea creature. In the following guide, we explain step by step how to solve the quest and why you should definitely do it. If you still have problems getting started, it's worth taking a look at our tips and tricks guide for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot!

Where can you find the king tomato?

The quest "A Hard Cut for the Turtle" is available to you after completing the Saiyajin saga and can be found on the island of Muten Roshi. The quest giver is Schildie, a talking sea turtle and long time friend of Muten Roshi.

Muten Roshi has given Son Goku all his food and getting it from the small island is quite difficult. Schildie asks Son Gohan to get seven times rice, six eggs and a king tomato. Rice and eggs shouldn't be a problem and are easy to find. Alternatively, you can find both at most merchants.

Here you will find the farmer who grows the king tomatoes.

The real challenge is the King Tomato - Muten Roshi's favorite tomato. To find it, you will have to work a lot harder. The turtle will tell you about a farmer who grows king tomatoes.

You can find the farmer in the southeast mountain area and he will be indicated on the map by a quest marker. However, the farmer will not give you the king tomato without something in return and therefore proposes a barter deal. In order for him to part with his tomato, you should bring him ten large, lively fish.

But you won't get the king tomato that easily.

The farmer gives you the tip to dive at the places over which you see several birds circling . However, it is not that easy. For one thing, there aren't many of these hot spots, and for another, if you're lucky, you'll get one big lively fish per dive.

Where can you find big lively fish in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot?

Unfortunately, the farmer doesn't tell you exactly where on the map you'll find the big lively fish. Before you struggle to dive into any pools and fly around headless in the big world, we have the solution here!

Here you can find the big lively fishes.

First, open the world map and travel to the Southeast Island area. This is the same area where you accepted the quest and where the cameo house of Muten Roshi is located. The island you need to get to is in the far northwest of the area (top right of the map).

Once you've made it to the island, fly in the direction of the golden fish icon on your minimap. Near the pier, you'll see an NPC loudly pointing out the large, lively fish. Now all you have to do is jump into the water and catch the fish.

In the water, look for schools of fish circling small golden spheres. The golden spheres represent items that you can obtain from said schools of fish. In this area, there is an increased chance of obtaining the large vibrant fish.

However, you can also find other things, such as fish eggs. If one dive isn't enough, you can simply travel to another area and back again to re-spawn the schools of fish.

Why the quest "A Hard Cut for the Turtle" pays off

Once you have ten large, lively fish in your inventory, head straight back to the farmer. He'll be happy and give you the fabulous King Tomato to take back to Schildie. The sea turtle thanks you for your effort and rewards you with experience points, some food and a rare D-medal, which you need to learn new super attacks.

That's a bit of a payoff for the effort after all.

The real treasure, however, is the Turtle Soul Badge, which you'll also get after completing the side quest. Schildie comes with extremely high base values in the areas of "Cooking" , "Divine" and "Adult" and can therefore be used in many ways.

We recommend placing the Soul Badge in the Adult community, which gives you bonuses on buying and selling items. If you place Schildie's badge next to Lunch's and Muten Roshi's badges, you will unlock the "Resident of Kame House" bonus, which will increase the stats on the community board even more!

The Soul Badge of Schildie comes with very high base stats and can be used in many ways.

Initially, the side story can only be played between the Saiyajin and Frieza sagas. However, the time limit on side stories should soon be history. In a new Twitter post, BANDAI NAMCO stated that the game will soon have a time machine that will allow you to easily catch up on any side stories you didn't complete in time.
