Tips in field 1 - food, ingredients, cooking, campfire

Between battles, you'll spend a lot of time in the open game world. You should always keep an eye open for food sources. Whether it's wild animals, fishing spots, or vegetable patches. Take everything with you on your way - you'll surely need it later in the game!

When you go fishing, you should always use bait if possible to maximize your chances of success. Bait can be found in most waters. Go for a dive and you'll have a good amount of bait in no time.

Food can either be consumed immediately, roasted on campfires, or left in the hands of an experienced cook who can prepare a proper meal for you. Meals give you temporary and permanent bonuses to your stats. So you should eat regularly to get stronger!

Campfires can be recognized by rising clouds of smoke. These are scattered throughout the world and offer you not only the opportunity to roast meat, but also represent resting places where you can restore the TP and Ki of the entire group.

Alternatively, ingredients can be purchased from merchants, which you can find in most settlements. Merchants sell you not only ingredients, but also other resources and materials that you need for improvements or recipes. You can also sell excess junk here.

Tips in field 2 - NPCs, settlements, memorials

In the settlements you can also find so-called guides, which are marked by a candle symbol. In exchange for cash, these sell information about important places and events, such as fishing and hunting spots, fruit trees and mineral deposits.

NPC's give hints about rare objects.

Rather save your money and make use of the left shoulder button to track down the ki of special objects. Hunting loot, training grounds, ores, fruit trees, training grounds and other key objects will start to glow as a result.

However, you can track interesting objects based on more than just their ki. As you fly through the world, you'll hear all sorts of people loudly pointing out objects you've found, so keep your eyes peeled!

One of the NPC's that can be found in each area is the announcer of the martial arts tournament, which some of you will surely know. If you find him and talk to him, you will always get a great reward, such as various materials, or even gifts.

You can find the announcer of the martial arts tournament in each area.

In each area you can also find the old fortune teller Baba. If you pay her, she will reveal a memory location on the map. If you've already found all of the memory locations, the old hag will simply turn you away. Memory locations give you old manga clippings that you need to complete your encyclopedia.

Quests in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Besides the main story, there are also many side quests that you can complete. On the world map, the areas where there is a side quest at the current time are marked with a blue quest column. In most of the quests you will help known characters with their everyday problems.

Upon successful completion, you can receive rare items such as ingredients, components, or gifts. You can even get D-medals from some side quests. You can even get corresponding soul badges for your community board from more famous characters.

Side quests pay off!

Side quests can be found all over the world and appear depending on your progress in the main story. Many of these quests can only be completed at a certain time and with certain characters, so you should complete them as soon as possible! You can check the story menu to see how long the quest will be available.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot - Super Attacks and D Medals

Super attacks represent your skills, so to speak, and can be used during a fight for a certain amount of Ki. Super attacks can be assigned in the character menu and improved in a separate skill tree for Z-balls.

Along with various resources, Z-balls are one of the most important collectibles in the open game world and are essential for improving super attacks. The color of Z-balls depends on the local conditions. You'll find green orbs near forests, blue ones next to bodies of water and red ones in deserts.

Another essential component for learning the super attacks are the D medals. You can start a training session at training locations with the help of the D medals. If you complete it successfully, you'll unlock a new super attack.

D-medals are hidden all over the world and are usually found in prominent places, such as in ruins of houses, at the bottom of a lake, or in an exploded tree. New super attacks are also obtained by playing the main story.

The Community Board and Soul Badges Explained

One of the most important features in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the community board. As you progress through the main story or complete certain side quests, you'll receive special soul badges from well-known Dragon Ball characters.

You can then place these soul badges on the Community Board. The Community Board is divided into seven different communities that can give you and your party different bonuses:

  • Z Warrior Community: Gives you bonuses to attack and party support.
  • Cooking Community: Increases the bonuses you can get from meals.
  • Training Community: Strengthens the defense and experience gain of the group.
  • Development Community: Reduces the cost of projects and increases their chance of success.
  • Gods Community: Increases the number of items and Z-balls you receive
  • Adult community: Gives you a bonus on the proceeds of sales
  • Adventurer community: Boosts HP, Ki and the effect of healing items.

Each of these communities has a fixed leader that you cannot move to another community. For example, the leader of the Z Warriors is Goku. Of the adult community, it's Muten Roshi.

To increase the bonuses you get, you'll have toincrease the level ofthe community. This is where the received soul badges come into play, representing the character's competence in the various communities.

However, choosing the appropriate soul badge is not only based on these values. If you combine certain soul badges with each other, the right combinations will let you unlock additional bonuses that will increase your stats even more. For example, if you place Gohan next to Goku, you'll activate the "father-son team" bonus.

The values of a soul badge can be influenced with special gifts. Gifts can be found in the game world or are rewarded after successfully completing a mission.

If the ability of a badge is increased by a certain value, the community level also increases. Which community is affected depends on the corresponding gift. However, friendship can also be increased by a gift. The friendship value determines how much the characters support you in combat.

Tips and tricks for fighting in DBZ: Kakarot

Before you jump into a fight, you should check the Ki of the opponents:

  • Blue Ki means that the opponents are weaker than you.
  • Yellow Ki means that the enemies are as strong as you are.
  • Red Ki means that the opponents are stronger than you. Better keep your distance here!

In the fights your defense consists of blocking and dodging. By blocking you can reduce the damage done by the opponent for a short time. However, if you block too long, the opponent will break through your defense and you won't be able to move for a short time.

The battles in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot should not be approached rashly.

Minimize the risk and rely on a combination of blocking and dodging. If you manage to dodge just before an enemy hit, you'll slow down the opponent and create the perfect opportunity to counterattack. This also fills up your voltage meter faster, which you can use to get stronger for a short time.

Use your ki sparingly and always wait for a good opportunity to regenerate it. Especially in more difficult fights, it's always important to have enough ki for explosions and teleportation attacks.

Both of these can be activated while blocking. The explosions fling the enemies away from you. This is especially helpful when you find yourself surrounded by enemies. Much more important is the teleportation attack. This allows you to teleport behind the enemy while blocking and push him away with a powerful blow. Very useful to interrupt the opponent's attack! You can even use the teleportation attack to counter long-range attacks.

Super attacks in the form of energy beams, such as the powerful Kamehameha, or Masenko, consume a lot of Ki and are only effective if the opponent doesn't move. Therefore, you should only use them after you have stunned the opponent!

Don't forget your support characters! Up to two characters can accompany you in the party. There are three different types of support characters:

  • Offensive support characters: attack and pursue enemies.
  • Defensive support characters: Block attacks and ki blasts
  • Special Support Characters: Can regenerate TP and Ki.

Before tackling an important battle within the story, you should always stock up on enough healing potions. Healing potions can be assigned to four different slots and determine victory and defeat in many battles.
