Lost Judgment is the sequel to Judgment, which was released in 2018, and like its predecessor, it was developed by Japanese studio Ru Ga Gotoku. The studio is mostly known for the Yakuza series, which is why many game elements are similar to Lost Judgment.

The new Lost Judgment is an extremely extensive game. So extensive that many secrets can be overlooked in the first playthrough. In this guide, we'll give you some useful tips & tricks to make the game easier.

Mastering battles on a high difficulty level

The fights in Lost Judgment do not pose a serious challenge in most cases. Only the boss fights might give some of you a headache. For those of you who are looking for a real challenge or want to get the platinum trophy, there is the difficulty level "Legendary". We'll explain how to unlock it further down in the guide.

On higher difficulty levels, the fights get really tough and every mistake can cost you the victory. Below we explain how to maximize your chances of victory and what preparations you should make before each fight.

The defensive snake style controls the battlefield.

  • Use the Snake style: this animal style is by far the most defensive and lets you block attacks from all directions. In addition, you can parry attacks to stagger the opponent and create a window of opportunity for the counterattack. The later upgrades to the snake style are powerful finishers that let you take out an entire group of enemies.
  • Use environment: Always be on the lookout for pieces of furniture, signs or bicycles that you can smash into your opponents' ears. These tools will deal the most damage and allow you to quickly break through enemy cover.
  • Carry Food & Potions: Always make sure to take enough food with you. These are not particularly expensive and can be used as often as you like to heal yourself in battle. It's best to stop at every store and buy half the assortment. Equally important are the potions that you unlock later in the game. The potions must be brewed beforehand and give you powerful superpowers.

How do I get money quickly?

Most completed missions will earn you a little money. How much you end up with varies from mission to mission. Money is primarily used to buy new items and consumables: from new equipment to expensive energy bars. Especially on higher difficulty levels, the expenses add up.

One of the fastest ways to get money is to take out powerful elite enemies. These hunks are marked by a purple diamond and can be found all over the map. Especially the enemies in the golden suit give extra money.

The most lucrative enemies are dressed in golden suits.

Such a colossus can earn you between 50,000 and 100,000 yen! However, this type of enemy deals out extremely hard and should only be approached with extreme caution. It is best to use furniture and shields to attack and rely on your EX bar.

How to farm elite enemies: A good location to target these enemies is near the high school. Run up and down the alleys below the Kinka Bridge and beat up every group of enemies you find. After two or three groups, an elite golden-suited enemy should appear. Don't forget to save after each successful victory!

The most important merchants in the game

There are numerous merchants in Lost Judgment, each of which carries a different assortment. Below, we will give you an overview of six special merchants whose goods are not easy to find and will be of great help to you:

  • Onodera's Goods: The homeless rogue stays near the boxing club. Here you'll be able to buy marked cards, which will make gambling much easier. There are also items to buy that you won't find at any other merchant.
  • Hustle Botique: Located below the Kinka Bridge. Here you can buy new outfits for the dance club, which will give you a nice bonus in the decisive matches.
  • Yi Xing Tang: You can find this merchant in China Town. The rather expensive assortment consists of rare ingredients that are essential for brewing potions.

The most unassuming merchants sell the most useful items.

  • Benten Pawn/Ebisu Pawn: These two pawnshops are the only stores where you can sell your items. Benten Pawn is located on Misaki St. and Ebisu Pawn is located on W Bayside St. In addition, you can find strong equipment items with good stats bonuses here.
  • Deco Rush: The only store besides the skateboard dealer where you can buy a new skateboard. Collecting all skateboards is also required for the platinum trophy. You can find the dealer on Carriage Highway.
  • Flowers 2 Go: As the name suggests, you can buy flowers here. You need to buy flowers, for example, for a side quest in which you learn a new potion recipe. You can find the store in Hamakita Par.

What should I spend my skill points on?

Skill points (SP) are rewarded after winning battles. You can use these points to improve your character's stats and learn new skills. The various choices are listed in the mobile app "Skills". These are in turn divided into different categories.

For starters, you should invest primarily in the "Values" tab. The "Health Boost" and the "Attack Boost" are particularly important, as they will make your battles much easier. Likewise, you should invest directly in "Battle Bonus", which will increase the number of SP earned after each battle.

The first thing you should invest in is the general "stats".

There are three different attack stances in the game: Tiger, Crane and Snake. These animal styles can in turn be upgraded through skill points. For example, you can learn new finishers and combos or increase your general fighting power.

It's best to choose one of the three styles and try to learn all the skills in the corresponding tab before moving on to another style. Unlocking some skills is tied to various conditions. For example, special books about martial arts must be found in order for you to acquire a special skill. These books can be bought from merchants.

Getting the passcode for the secret arcade

At the very edge of the map, near the Girl's Bite cab stationthere is a strange arcade on the map, which, strangely enough, does not have a name. When you visit this arcade, you will come to a door that is secured with a numerical code. The numerical code is linked to a small puzzle that you can find in the open game world.

Here you can play traditional Japanese games of chance.

Go to Fukutoku Park to pick up a conversation between two citizens. The conversation is about the code you are looking for. Here you will learn that the last digit must be a zero and you must enter "two to the left, two up, one to the right and three down".

The unlock code is

  • 7210

What do the skateboard points get you?

Once you get the first skateboard during the story, you unlock a quick way to move around the city. Unfortunately, the skateboard can only be used on streets - so its use is limited. When you ride through the city like this, sooner or later you should notice holographic tokens that appear at regular intervals on the roadway.

The skateboard dealer will only be unlocked once you have progressed in the school story.

If you collect these talers, they will be credited to your account for skateboard points. Unfortunately, the points only become relevant very late in the game. During the course of the school stories you will unlock the skateboard club at some point. Here, the points can also be earned in a special game mode.

The earned currency can then be redeemed at a new dealer that appears in Hamakita Park. In addition to new skateboards with special features, you can also purchase very trivial things like special equipment and upgrade modules.

What do I unlock in the post-game?

After you reach the end and the credits are over, you unlock Adventure Mode and New Game Plus. So you will seamlessly transition into Adventure Mode. You keep all your progress, items, and money. Apart from the main story, you can now catch up on all the side missions, school stories, etc. that you didn't complete or find in the regular playthrough. So you don't have to worry about missing anything on your first run.

In New Game Plus, skills, items and money can be transferred.

When you start a new game run, you can select the "New Game Plus Mode" from now on. In this mode, you keep your skills, items, money and TownGO progress. With these advantages, you can now play through the main story, school stories and side missions again.

The New Game Plus mode is especially useful for those who want to play through the game on legendary. You'll also unlock this brutal difficulty level after completing the main story. Thus, the difficulty level cannot be selected on your first playthrough.
