The story revolves around the eponymous young girl Gris. This has had a painful experience and wanders through her joyless world. This appears dreary at first, but increasingly changes color as the game progresses.

Firewatch" also lives from its basically rather calm atmosphere. A large part of the game time is taken up by the conversations over the radio, in which the characters are all superbly drawn. But the exploration of the park and the events there are also exciting, because the developers have designed the world with a lot of love for detail.

Gameplay-wise, "Firewatch" remains a bit weak on the chest, but those who like fascinating worlds and first-class dialogue and story will get their money's worth.
