Like Sony with its monthly PlayStation Plus games, Microsoft offers its Xbox Live Gold subscribers a few free games to download every month, called Games with Gold. By the way, those who have subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can also enjoy the free games.

The monthly free games usually include two classics and two more recent titles. Thanks to backwards compatibility, owners of Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S can also play Xbox 360 games. Once the games are in your library, you can play them as long as you have an active Xbox Gold subscription. For Xbox 360 games, on the other hand, you only need a subscription at the time of download, but you can play the games without the subscription afterwards.

Games with Gold: Which games will be free in August 2022?

Calico

Cat lovers take note: In Calico you have to rebuild the cat café in the city. You'll equip it with new furniture, decorate it nicely and provide your animal customers with delicious cookies. You can expect a relaxing adventure game with a freely explorable world.

Saints Row 2

To coincide with the release of the Saints Row reboot in August 2022, Microsoft is letting you relive the beginnings of the series as an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. You create your own character, explore a large open world and fight against the enemy syndicates in the city. The entire story can even be played together in two-player co-op mode.

Monaco: What's Yours is Mine

In the co-op game Monaco: What's Yours is Mine, you can go on heists together with up to three friends. You can choose from eight different characters, all with different abilities - just don't get caught in the crime!

ScourgeBringer

The 2D pixel adventure ScourgeBringer lets you take on hordes of enemies and nasty bosses in hectic battles in a post-apocalyptic world. A constantly changing dungeon with numerous secrets awaits you.

Relicta
