Deadly Premonition 2 sidequests: How to solve all 47 sidequests

As in the predecessor, there are also some sidequests to discover in Deadly Premonition 2 on the Nintendo Switch. In total, you can find and complete 47 sidequests, including the search for the Fleir-de-Lys, which we make much easier for you with our Deadly Premonition 2 photo guide.

However, the missions are not always easy to get and are also often difficult to solve. This guide therefore shows you exactly how to work through all 47 tasks one by one. There are other side quests that you can take on in the police station. However, you can repeat them all the time and they will not appear in your overview.

Side Mission 01: Black and Yellow Terror

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: -

Talk to Sherriff Melvin at the police headquarters and he will ask you to kill 30 killer bees. To do this, travel to the park - at the northern end you will find four hives. Approach one, shoot once at the approaching swarm and then at the hive, because then a new one will appear after a short time.

The bees can only be found in the park near these hives.

Now run back and forth between the four targets and repeat the procedure until 30 killer bees have been killed. Then go back to Melvin and the mission is completed.

Side Mission 02: Rabies on Four Legs

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Side mission 01 completed
  • Reward: Pearl of the deep sea

Basically, the mission goes exactly like the previous one. Talk to Melvin again and you should eliminate 30 dogs. You will find the four-legged friends mainly in the western part of the city, near the sheriff's house. Kill the animals and travel back to Melvin.

Side Mission 03: Death to the Death Alligators

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 02
  • Reward: $75

Melvin's third mission goes exactly like the others: Talk to him and you will receive the order to kill 30 alligators. Go to the lake in the south of the city and kill the animals on the shore. After that go back to the sheriff.

Side Mission 04: Neither Dead nor Alive

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Side mission 03 completed
  • Reward: 150 dollars

The fourth side mission is basically all three previous ones in a single mission: you have to shoot 30 bees, 30 dogs and 30 alligators. You already know how to do that. Travel back to Melvin after the long hunt and the sidequest series is over.

Sidequest 05: Find My Dollie!

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Start before entering the Otherworld in Chapter 1
  • Reward: Alcohol Dollie Level 1

You have to talk to Galena Clarkson, which is not so easy. This is because the lady moves around the city all day. Pay attention to your minimap, as every important character is marked with a blue dot, and try to catch her.

She's looking for a doll, which you won't be able to find until Chapter 2. There she is lying on a bed in the Otherworld. Then in the third chapter, you have to put the item next to the swing on the Clarkson's estate.

Side Mission 06: Danny's Lost Treasure

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: APHE Shells Chain Level 1

Danny lost a ring... because he's about to lose his arm here.

Look for Danny Clarkson in town and he will tell you about a lost ring. Go close to the pool behind the Clarkson mansion, which you already know from the cutscene. After a small cutscene, you will have to defeat an alligator and receive the gem, which you will give to Danny.

Side Mission 07: Horror Shower

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: Pearl of the Night Bayou, Shower in the Hotel

If you want to wash yourself regularly, this quest is a must. Try to use the broken showers in the hotel and talk to one of the three Davids afterwards. For the mission, the gentlemen must be present in their roles - it's no use ringing the bell. Then they won't help you.

The concierge is at the reception at noon, the cook in the restaurant in the morning and the bellboy in the lobby in the evening. The concierge will send you to the valve on the third floor. You will find it behind the counter. Then talk to the cook and the bellboy.

You have to activate these valves.

Both of them will send you first to the valve on the second floor, then to the toilet on the first floor. Once you have turned all the wheels, you only have to use the shower and the quest is completed.

Side Mission 08: A Bellboy's Heart

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: Y-Vern Map (Makes fast travel cheaper)

Talk to the bellboy at the hotel at 9 in the morning. He wants you to use the fast travel system to travel through the city 30 times. Once you've done that, talk to David again and the task is done.

Side Mission 09: The Creole Gamble

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 11
  • Reward: -

Go to David the cook and he will ask you for some ingredients. You can find the Shrimp on the ground north of the middle bridge on the west bank. The Onion is behind the bar and the Celery is near the pool behind the Clarkson estate. Give the food to David and try the new dish. When he asks you if his food is the better one, agree with him.

Side Mission 10: Letter in the Closet

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: Dark green suit

In the second chapter, keep using York's closet in the hotel. If you've washed your suits often enough, you'll eventually come across a letter. It says that you should dry clean an outfit and pick it up from the concierge after 72 hours.

Clean your clothes as often as you can.

Be sure to save the game before doing so, as the quest is bugged and you should actually go to David's 96 hours (24 hours cleaning plus 72 hours waiting) after dropping it off. Then talk to the man and the mission is done.

Side Mission 11: Master at the Stove

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Requirement: -
  • Reward: -

Talk to Alexus in the diner and you will receive the mission to organize three ingredients. You can find the rice near the shed on the sugar plantation to the north. The green pepper is right in front of Alexus' house and you will get thyme for successfully completing side mission 39. Hand over the items to the woman and the quest is done.

Side Mission 12: Hunger is the Best Sauce

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 09
  • Reward: -

Talk to Alexus after calling David's dish the better one in side mission 09. Your satiety meter should be less than five percent, because then the lady will offer you her food. Taste it and the task is completed.

Side Mission 13: Follow-Up Training - Round 1

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: 5 x donut

With these settings, the first split should not cause any problems.

Once you are allowed to use the bowling alley during the main campaign, approach Mrs. Carpenter and you should bowl around various splits. For the Christmas Tree, target the two pins on the left so that one of them takes the one on the right as well.

Side Mission 14: Follow-Up Training - Round 2

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 13
  • Reward: -

The second split is by far the easiest. Just target the Poison Ivy from the left side at an angle and you'll clear all three pins pretty quickly.

Side Mission 15: Follow-Up Training - Round 3

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 14
  • Reward: Power Talisman Level 1

The Big Five turns out to be quite difficult. Go to the left edge of the lane, use the heaviest ball and give it a minimal spin to the left at almost full power. Optimally, one of the pins will clear the three on the right side as well.

The Big Five also has a lot to do with luck: Several times this setting didn't work, only to clear all the pins one time after all.

However, you need a lot of patience and a bit of luck here. Because even if you hit the ads perfectly, that doesn't guarantee success.

Side Mission 16: Seven Days of Cocktaillaune

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: Saint's Blood Pearl

The naked bartender Xavier wants you to try a new cocktail every day. Talk to him and he'll give you a new one each time - always select the "Talk" option for this. Just sleep in the hotel until the next evening to complete the mission quickly.

But beware: on Sunday the bar is closed. Therefore, go to Xavier's house and wait there until about 11 pm. Knock on the door and you will get the last drink. Then talk to the bartender in his store one last time to complete the side quest.

Side Mission 17: Tiny Thieves of Le Carré

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 16
  • Reward: Knife

Talk to Xavier in his bar and he admits to losing his papers to some squirrels. Go to his house and shoot all the rodents. In doing so, you will get the items and give them back to the man.

Side Mission 18: Workshop - 360 Powerslide

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: After you have learned a Wallie in the main campaign
  • Reward: 360 Powerslide

Complete the courses to unlock new skateboarding tricks.

Talk to Emma and she will show you a new trick along with the course. Complete the parkour to use the 360 Powerslide in the Open World as well.

Side Mission 19: Workshop - Ollie

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Complete side mission 18 and rank 1 in the 360 Powerslide course
  • Reward: Ollie

Talk to Emma and she will show you another trick including the course. Complete the parkour to use the Ollie in the Open World as well.

Side Mission 20: Workshop - Impossible

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Complete side mission 19 and rank 1 in the Ollie course
  • Reward: Impossible

Side Mission 21: Workshop - Skitching

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Complete side mission 20 and rank 1 in the Impossible course

Talk to Emma and she will show you one last trick including the course. Complete the parkour to use the Skitching trick in the Open World as well.

Side Mission 22: The LORD's Warm Smile

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: 5 x Cold-B-Gone

In front of the church you will meet Tyrone.

Go to the church at around 6pm and talk to Tyrone. After the conversation, sleep with a sleeping bag outside for 24 hours and talk to the man again. After that the side mission is done.

Side Mission 23: The LORD's Deep Healing

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 22
  • Reward: 5 x antidote

Go to Tyrone again at 6pm, this time you should come to him poisoned. Just run to the park next door and let the bees sting you. Make sure that your life energy is almost empty. Only then you will be able to talk to the client and finish the mission.

Side Mission 24: The LORD's Benevolence

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 23
  • Reward: Fresh Snow Bead

The next time Tyrone asks you to show up at his place drunk as a skunk. Just travel to the bar and drink so much that Agent York can't walk properly. Talk to the pastor again and the quest is finished.

Side Mission 25: The LORD Blesses Wisdom

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Side mission 24 completed
  • Reward: -

This time you have to answer one question correctly. If you get it wrong, you will have to come back the next day. Therefore, just save on the phone and reload if necessary.

Side Mission 26: The LORD Guides You

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 25
  • Reward: -

Also in this side mission you have to solve a question. Therefore, just save on the phone and reload if necessary.

Side Mission 27: The LORD Bestows Joy

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 26
  • Reward: Flashlight

The last quest for Tyrone contains a question again. Therefore just save on the phone and reload if necessary.

Side mission 28: Picturesque secret tip

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Started side mission 42
  • Reward: Poison necklace level 1

You can activate the secret points at David the bellboy.

Talk to David the bellboy next to the exit and travel to the secret spot with Raven.

Side Mission 29: Fantastic Secret Tip

The shopkeeper wants five strange pearls from you.

The Mirror requires you to find five pearls. You will get them all in other side quests. You will have to complete quests 02, 07, 16, 24 and 41 to get all the orbs and deliver them to the client.

Side Mission 34: Swamp Tour - Level 1

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: After you meet Chuck in the campaign
  • Reward: 10 x Crawfish Shell

Talk to Chuck at his cabin at 3pm to start his swamp parkour. Along the way, you are to shoot an animal icon that is the same size as the normal targets. Complete the course, hit the target and the task is done.

Side Mission 35: Swamp Tour - Level 2

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Complete side mission 34 and wait 24 hours
  • Reward: 10 x Medium Quality Cloth

Talk to Chuck at his hut at 3pm to start the second swamp parkour. The rest works the same as the other courses.

Side Mission 36: Swamp Tour - Level 3

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisitecompleted side mission 35 and waited 24 hours

Chuck will send you through the swamp by boat.

  • Reward: 10 x Medium Quality String

Talk to Chuck at his cabin at 3pm to start the fourth swamp parkour . The rest works the same as the other courses.

Side Mission 38: Swamp Tour - Level 5

  • Available from: Chapter 2
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 37 and waited for 24 hours
  • Reward: 10 x High Quality Bead

Talk to Chuck at his hut at 3pm to start the fifth swamp parkour . The rest works the same as the other courses.

Side Mission 39: The Night Wears Red

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: -
  • Reward: Thyme

The monsters are only on the streets from 0am to 6am.

Go out on the streets sometime between 0am and 6am and encounter the red shadows. Then wait until evening and go to the park. Here you will meet Avery, who will give you the quest to kill 30 of the monsters. Comply, talk to the giant again and the mission is done.

Side Mission 40: Red Sugar

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 39 and completed the first Otherworld quest
  • Reward: 10 x Oak Root

Avery wants something from you again. This time you are to get him something from the Otherworld. Go through the shed by the plantation back into the shooter section and fight your way to the end.

In the boss room, there is an item on the floor. Bring it to Avery to successfully complete the mission.

Side Mission 41: Red Curse on White Walls

  • Available from: Chapter 1
  • Prerequisite: Completed side mission 40
  • Reward: Pearl of Lush Green

On the bed lies Galena's doll.

This side mission is just like the previous one, except that you have to go to the Otherworld in the Clarkson estate. Again, you'll find the item in the last room and just have to give it to the client.
