Greedfall Romances & Companions: Guide to All Affairs

Greedfall lets you glamorize Companions throughout the game, allowing you to enter into various romances. In this guide, we'll tell you:

Greedfall is similar to BioWare games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect: action role-playing, dialogue options, companions and romances with the latter are typical features that make these games classics. How do romances work in Greedfall and what do they bring?

To start a romantic relationship with one of the Companions in the game, you'll have to make different decisions at important moments. There are four possible romances in total, and the male or female version of character De Sardet can enter into three of each per playthrough.

The player completes a romance when De Sardet has the appropriate gender, depending on the Companion, completes three corresponding quests, and then sleeps with the character. After that, you'll have to talk to the character again to get a trophy or achievement.

What romances are there and how do you complete them?

These are the companions you can seduce in Greedfall:

  • Kurt, for female characters
  • Vasco, for female and male characters
  • Siora, for female and male characters
  • Aphra, for male game characters

Greedfall: Romance with Kurt

Kurt is one of the first Companions in the game. He is a good melee fighter with strong armor. Kurt is only open to romance with a female De Sade. These steps are necessary for it:

  1. Missing quest: After arriving in New Sérène, you need to talk to Constantin in the Governor's Palace to unlock this quest. It earns 1,300 experience points and improves your reputation and relationship with Kurt. After completing it, talk to Kurt and choose the dialogue option, telling him that your goal was to understand him better.
  2. Quest "Among the Ghosts": now you have to visit the regiment's camp together with Kurt. Save the recruit Wilhelm and confront Captain Rolf with your research. This will further increase your reputation with Kurt and bring you 1,600 experience points, and your reputation will also increase with Aphra. Now you have to talk about a childhood memory with Constantin in the dialogue to advance the romance with Kurt.
  3. Quest "Settle Debts": Kurt must now first survive the main quest "Betrayal!" for this step to be possible. Help Kurt bring Mayor Hermann to justice for his crimes. The mission brings 1,600 experience points, higher reputation with Kurt and a legendary outfit. At the end, choose the dialogue option where you hope Kurt will be "a part of it."
  4. Talk to Kurt again to complete the romance. By doing so, you'll unlock a trophy as an achievement, improve in Crafting, and Kurt will only address De Sardet as "Sweet Excellency" from now on.

Greedfall: Romance with Vasco

Vasco's character is primarily designed for skill. You'll meet the captain of the Nauts on the journey to the island of Tír Fradí and can recruit him after talking to Constantine. The romance with Vasco can be completed quite early, both by a female or a male De Sardet. These steps are necessary for this:

  1. After your first meeting with Constantine in New Sérène, you will meet Vasco at the port. At his place you can start the quest "A name for a family", where you break into the harbor master's office. Successfully completing the mission will earn you 1,000 experience points and improve your relationship with Vasco. To pursue the romance with him, choose the option in the subsequent dialog where you'll ask him about fond memories.
  2. The second quest that will bring you closer to Vasco is called "Family Reunion". You'll have to help him find his brother. Before that, increase your Charisma to at least two, as you'll have to successfully intimidate debt collectors during the mission. At the end of the quest you'll receive 1,300 experience points and improve your relationship with Vasco again. Now choose the dialogue option where you tell Vasco that this encounter allowed him to prove himself.
  3. Now you'll have to complete the mission "Forever a Naut". It includes a boss fight, which you'll manage more easily if you master the Stasis ability and paralyze the enemy several times. For the quest you'll receive 1,600 experience points and your relationship with Vasco will continue to improve. He also gets a new tattoo on his face. During your next conversation, say that you would like to set sail with him again.
  4. Once the three quests are completed for Vasco, he'll ask De Sardet to the next conversation for the shepherding session, and the romance is complete. This unlocks a trophy as an achievement and increases the character's intuition.

Greedfall: Romance with Siora

Siora belongs to the natives of the islands and is the daughter of Queen Bladnid. She is a typical support character, heals the party and uses mainly ranged weapons. She can be glamoured by both a female and a male De Sardet. These steps are required to do so:

  1. "Find Queen Bladnid" is the first quest that lets you approach Siora romantically. It becomes available after completing the main mission "The Battle of the Red Spears". Siora's mother has been captured and now you have to help find her. If you complete the quest, you will receive 1,000 experience points, and your reputation and relationship with Siora will improve. Now choose the dialogue option where you tell about how you said goodbye to your own mother.
  2. The next personal quest for Siora is called "Promises Set in Stone," and it can be played after you complete "The Trials of Water." Be careful: refuse the bribe you're offered, or you run the risk of Siora leaving your party! Answer in the dialogue after the quest that her behavior was "logical" to further the romance. You'll get 1,300 experience points and your relationship will improve again.
  3. In "The Queen's Farewell," which immediately follows as the next mission, you must craft something for Siora. For the completed quest you will again get 1,300 experience points, tell her afterwards that you could understand if she needs to help her people.
  4. Siora must now be approached again for the romance to be completed. You will unlock a trophy as an achievement and increase De Sardet's power.

Greedfall: Romance with Aphra

Aphra is a researcher whose goal is to find a cure for the Malichor plague. She is good to use as a damage dealer in Greedfall because of her gun and bombs. Aphra only shows herself receptive to advances towards male characters. These steps are necessary for romance with her:

  1. The quest "Islander Knowledge" will lead you on a joint quest to find a cave. It is selectable after completing the main mission "The Battle of the Red Spears". Do not take Siora with you on the expedition, as this will damage your reputation with Aphra. Completing the quest will earn you 1,000 experience points and improve your relationship with Aphra. Afterwards, choose the dialogue option to the two young people.
  2. Now go to the "Cave of Knowledge " - but only after you have observed the activities at the mines during the main quest "The Price of Blood". For completing the mission you'll get 1,000 experience points again and your relationship with Aphra will improve. At the end, choose the dialogue option after which you will feel that you have learned something.
  3. The last of the three Aphra quests is called "The Connection Ritual." You'll have to wait 24 hours before you can go with her to the ritual, so it's best to wait by the campfire to turn the time forward. At the end of the mission, tell Aphra that you would like to be a part of it to further fuel the romance and receive 1,300 experience points.
  4. The next dialogue will conclude the romance with Aphra. You will receive a trophy as an achievement and increase the Science attribute.
