Being compliant with the controls is important, because the combat system relies on the quick use and change of weapons in the middle of a fight.

Tips for starting the game

You'll be thrown a lot of side missions and collectibles after the tutorial. But don't let that distract you, play the story first until you complete the first chapter and reach level 15. After the first chapter, you'll get access to more equipment and unlock the rest of the map.

Save your resources

You collect resources in Tower of Fantasy to upgrade your weapons. We advise you to wait until you have finished at least the first chapter. If you invest in every weapon from the beginning, you'll only waste resources, because you don't know yet which weapons suit your play style best. However, you can't play these challenges as often as you want, but you have to pay an entry fee with the in-game currency "Vitality". So think carefully about which challenges you want to play in a day and accept the challenges with the prospects of the best loot.

Vitality regenerates automatically over time: every eight minutes you will receive one point of vitality.

Complete activities in the open world

Of course, exploration plays a big role in an open-world title. As you roam the world, you'll find many black and gold cores that you can use to order new weapons. In addition, you'll repeatedly come across ruins that function like small dungeons.

Relics are often means of transportation.

As a reward for completing a ruin, you'll receive relics . You can use them to unlock new movement abilities, for example. Also, complete training sessions to earn currency for the in-game store.

While exploring the open world, make sure to eat food regularly so that your saturation stays in the positive range - this way you'll heal faster outside of combat.

How does the combat system in Tower of Fantasy work?

The battle system is the core of the MMO anime slasher. The special thing about it: The different weapons affect your dodging abilities. If you dodge perfectly, some weapons trigger certain effects - for example, the EM Blade creates a mirage that slows down enemies in a certain area.

Another special feature is the so-called discharge. You can put a total of up to three weapons in the quick-change slots. While you fight with one equipped weapon, the other two weapons charge up with every hit. You can see this by a blue square indicator at the bottom right of the screen.

Discharges play an important role in the combat system.

When a weapon is fully charged, you trigger a discharge when you switch to that weapon. What effect the discharge has depends on the weapon - for example, the Battle Blade triggers a devastating Tornado Blade attack and heals all debuffs. In total, you can charge the charge bar twice - if you discharge the weapon only on the second full bar, the effect is even stronger.

You can use the dodge abilities to gain an advantage in combat.

Each weapon has a so-called weapon ability - this is a particularly strong attack that has a cooldown. There are also numerous attack combos that are different for each weapon. Experiment with different attack patterns and combine discharge as well as weapon abilities. This is the only way to use the full potential of your weapons.

Tips on weapons and elements

There is a large selection of weapons and the game also wants you to use your entire arsenal of weapons. You can read all the important information about the weapons in the inventory. However, the menus are a bit confusing at times, so we'll use screenshots to explain what the icons mean.

You will spend a lot of time in the weapons inventory.

The weapon type tells you whether it is an offensive, defensive or support weapon. The icon to the right of it tells you what element the weapon is equipped with. In this case, it is an offensive weapon with volt damage.

Some enemies are particularly vulnerable or resistant to certain elements. You can see this by a small indicator below the life bar. If an element icon with red arrows pointing down is displayed, the enemy has a certain resistance to that element.
