Biomutant Builds: Character Creation Tips

Right from the start, you can choose between six different species in Biomutant. All of them have the same basic values in the main characteristics vitality, strength, intellect, agility, charisma and luck. The differences are in the details. Each of these traits is influenced by different values. Intellect, for example, is composed of strength, AI energy and energy regeneration. Strength, on the other hand, is defined only by melee damage. The six species differ mainly in these sub-properties.

Adapt your choice of species to your preferred play style. If you prefer to go straight into melee combat, you should choose a class with high melee damage like the Dumdon. If you want to play a robust biomutant, go for the Hyla class. Here, health and armor are at their highest. Fips are the ideal foundation stone if you value psi powers above all else. If you want to squeeze secrets out of NPCs or resolve conflicts without fighting, Murgels offer the best basic characteristics.

Make sure you choose the right biomutant builds when you create your character.

Focus on strength and vitality at the beginning

You may optimize the basic values after choosing the species in a pie chart. For the beginning it makes sense to morph your character towards strength and vital ity. This will also make your biomutant stronger in appearance. As described in our Biomutant Tips Guide, battles are the fastest way to improve your character. Each time you level up, you can allocate ten points to a basic trait. If you are strong and robust right from the start, you will win fights more easily and level up faster. After that, you can go into fine-tuning.

Keep your genetic resistance balanced in your biomutant builds. You'll find protective clothing or get mechanical support throughout the game to travel through the infested areas unharmed. You can still use the loot hidden there later in the game.

If you mutate your biomutant character in one of the five directions, his appearance will change as well as his characteristics.

Biomutant builds: Choose the right class for your play style

Choosing a class gives you special enhancements and bonuses to certain features of your biomutant builds. So it makes sense to build on your previously chosen species and set base stats. The Sniper and Commando classes are primarily suited for fighting with firearms and ranged weapons.

The Saboteur is a nimble melee fighter, while the Sentinel lends itself as a robust tank. But again, Biomutant doesn't nail you down to your initial choice. You can easily evolve your character in another direction. You'll keep the initial class bonuses permanently, but you can add more later in the form of talents.

You can disregard genetic resistance in your biomutant build. You will find tons of clothing with protection values in the game.

The following table gives you a compact overview of the respective classes you can choose for your biomutant builds:

Biomutant builds: Use talents for polish

Once you gain access to the talents in the character menu, you'll be allowed to unlock various perks there. To do this, you'll need improvement points, of which you'll only get one each time you level up. So use them sparingly and think about what you'll use them for.

There are a total of fifteen general talents that can be used for each class. Again, choose talents that suit your play style first: If you want to play your biomutant as a resilient tank, perks like "Armor" and "Adrenaline" are suitable. These will increase your character's robustness and regeneration.

If you like to use AI energy, you should unlock the "AI Energized" perk first to recharge the required energy faster. Ranged fighters with firearms fare best with "Trigger Technique," "Technician," "Gunsmith," and "Perfect Reload." Your melee biomutants are best supported with "Wung Fu Miracle", "Sharpen" and "Wung Fu Barrage". The latter rewards successful melee combos with an extra damage bonus.
