Planet Zoo - Earn money: Raise entrance fees

When you start a new zoo, your entrance fee is $3 for children and adults. The more enclosures, animals and attractions you add, the more you should charge for admission. Accordingly, don't forget to raise the price regularly.

With hundreds of visitors a day, the price increase can already make a big difference. To do this, click on the entrance area. Then a window will open that will show you an overview of the visitors' satisfaction with the entrance price. If the number under the red smiley increases, you have set the ticket price too high.

With a click on the entrance area, you can adjust the ticket price at any time.

Planet Zoo also gives you a little help and tells you what visitors think about the ticket price. If you notice a lot of negative comments, reduce the ticket price.

Donation boxes for even more money

In the tutorial you could already discover the bluish boxes in front of the enclosure. You can place a clearly visible donation box in front of each enclosure or terrarium. If your visitors like the enclosures and animals, they will donate money to your zoo. The happier the animals, the more revenue you generate.

Regularly placed donation boxes make up a large part of your income.

Place the donation boxes in an easily accessible location directly on the sidewalk - so visitors can put something in the box as they walk by. When choosing a location, pay attention to where most of the visitors are standing.

If you place toys directly in front of the glass pane at the edge of an enclosure, the animals will automatically come closer to the visitors. This is not only viewed positively, but also ensures higher donations. Donation boxes make up a large part of the revenue and should not be neglected.

Planet Zoo: Save costs for employees and huts

You start your zoo with $40,000. What sounds like a lot at first is quickly spent. Therefore, at the beginning, focus on a small area where you place animals. If you extend your zoo unnecessarily, one employee will not be enough to take care of the entire zoo. Consequently, you'll have to hire more employees, who in turn will need more employee huts.

As with the game Zoo Tycoon (), you should start small and save your money. Once you have a financial buffer you can add more animal enclosures. If an employee does only average work, you can reduce the salary.

Simple buildings in Planet Zoo for fast money

In Planet Zoo you can really let your imagination run wild when constructing buildings and decorations. However, at the beginning of the game your enclosures, huts and research centers should be simple. Focus on functionality rather than appearance. The cost of decorations and plants adds up quickly.

To further save costs, you can combine some facilities. Select the foundation walls in the menu and under "Facilities" select Quarantine, Veterinary Clinic, Trade Center, Research Center and other facilities you want to combine.

Avoid demanding animals at the beginning

The more demanding an animal is, the more it costs. Initially, choose an animal that is comparatively small and inexpensive to maintain. A good choice is the turtle. Not only does it attract many visitors, but the amount of food and enclosure requirements are much less than for a lion or elephant, for example. The size of the enclosure is also limited, so you can keep your zoo manageable.

Planet Zoo: Fast money through gastronomy

The bigger your zoo gets, the bigger the gastronomic offer should be. If you expect more than 300 visitors a day, it makes sense to build drink stores and food stalls. Balloon stands can also quickly increase revenue.

Instead of plants and decorations, you should rather focus on functionality.

To give your visitors the opportunity to buy something from your zoo at any time, the stalls should be well placed. Try to set up a good supply in each area of your zoo. Since visitors' money can run low during a long day at the zoo, place enough ATMs. This way, those willing to buy can refill their wallets and consequently continue shopping in your zoo.

Is there a cheat for "infinite money" in Planet Zoo?

Did you know how to use cheats in the first Zoo Tycoon for PC and build your zoo without worrying about money? Unfortunately, this is not possible in Planet Zoo at the moment - there are no cheats for the new zoo simulation.

If this changes in the future and cheats for Planet Zoo are released, we will of course let you know here.

More tips for making more money in Planet Zoo

Besides the big obvious tips, there are many smaller ones that can make a difference:

  • Pause your game at the beginning. On the right side of the screen you can set your zoo to inactive. If it is active, you will soon get your first visitors without even having built an enclosure.
  • Enlarge the entrance area. If it's too small, visitors won't be able to get through the entrance and buy a ticket at peak times.
  • Charges money for the restrooms. Even if it's only a few cents, the amounts can add up quickly. To do this, simply click on the restroom building.
