How do I defeat Nemesis with the flamethrower?

The first boss fight can be divided into two phases. In the first phase, you'll have to shoot at his tank until he explodes. Don't waste grenade launcher ammo, but use the pistol or the shotgun. A shot from the grenade launcher won't do more damage than a pistol shot in this phase.

Dodge the flames by hiding behind one of the two containers. If he comes at you, run away so he doesn't catch you with a melee attack. Also, he sometimes fires upwards to rain down single flames on you. Change your position as soon as he shoots upwards.

Behind the cover, the flames can't catch you.

In the second phase, he uses his flamethrower as a club against you. Keep moving constantly and - when you've built up enough distance - shoot at his heart pump with the grenade launcher and the shotgun. There are also broken generators next to each container, which you can use to power him up.

Always make sure there is enough distance between you and Nemesis.

Watch out when he launches an assault attack. You can only avoid this attack by luring him around one of the containers or performing a perfect dodge roll. We'll tell you how to do that in our Resident Evil 3 tips & tricks.

Resident Evil 3 Boss Guide: Level 2 Nemesis in front of the Clock Tower

Nemesis has mutated and now looks like a giant licker from Resident Evil 2 (). However, he is significantly faster and more aggressive than his skinned cousins - which means you'll need to keep moving at all times.

He only goes into close combat at this mutation level. Either Nemesis strikes at you with his claws or jumps on Jill to bite her in the stomach. You can avoid both attacks with a perfect dodge roll.

The mine grenades react to contact.

The grenade launcher's mine grenades are especially helpful, as you can spread them on the ground to slow him down. Mine explosions also make him stop his attacks. Otherwise, bombard him with flame grenades while circling him and constantly running around the arena.

After some time he jumps on the buildings and buses around the arena. He then runs around the arena in circles for a few seconds until he eventually stops and starts to jump attack. Fire mine grenades at him as soon as he stands or hide behind the fountain if you run out of mines.

How do I defeat level 2 Nemesis in the disposal center?

This fight is similar to the fight at the Clock Tower, as Nemesis uses mostly the same attacks. What's new is his tentacle arm, which he uses to attack you from a distance. You can recognize this attack by the fact that he holds his tentacle up in the air for a moment before he strikes. In the first phase, the strategy from the fight at the Clock Tower applies: Always keep moving and hit it with the grenade launcher.

As soon as Nemesis goes down, a cutscene interrupts the action. Carlos joins the fight from afar, giving you hints through loudspeaker announcements.

Flame grenades are especially helpful in the first stage.

Nemesis jumps onto the elevated edge of the arena in the next phase - as he did in Clock Tower - and this time runs around behind eight numbered generators. He will eventually stop behind a generator, only to surprise you with a jump attack.

Three zombies are thrown into the arena at a time, while Nemesis runs around behind the generators. Meanwhile, take care of the zombies so that they don't distract you further afterwards. Carlos will tell you which generator Nemesis stopped behind. Then shoot the red lights of the corresponding generator so that he is paralyzed by the electric shock and falls down.

Electrocution does a lot of damage and also paralyzes Nemesis.

Fire at the parasite sticking out of his chest, preferably with the Shotgun or Lightning Hawk. Repeat the whole thing a few times and the fight will be over after a few minutes.

Boss fight: Final metamorphosis of Nemesis

First, grab the FINGeR ray gun from the silver box and fire it at Nemesis. After that, the actual battle begins: you have to push three batteries into their containers to recharge the ray gun. But this only works when Nemesis is paralyzed - if you just go for the batteries, he will eat you.

At this stage, red pustules grow all over his body. The pistol as well as the Lightning Hawk are suitable for shooting the pustules thanks to their range and accuracy. Shotgun and grenades are not useful in this fight. You should unpack the grenade launcher only if you still have mine grenades.

He will not survive this shot.

Nemesis attacks you mainly with these two attacks: He sweeps across the field from left to right - and vice versa - three times with his tentacles, and then he claps at you from above. The slap attack is particularly perfidious because you can be caught in the animation and Nemesis then strikes again, even though Jill hasn't been able to get up yet. Perfect dodging is thus indispensable for the second attack - especially on the higher difficulty levels.

Once you've destroyed all the pustules, Nemesis is briefly incapacitated and you have time to insert a battery. Repeat this twice and the ray gun will be fully charged. Take it out of the container again and give it the last rest.
