FIFA Ultimate Team(FUT) events are an important part of the game. They shake up the transfer market, bring new cards or new Squad Building Challenges (SBC). If you are always well aware of when which event is coming, a lot of coins can be made with this information.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Expected launch: November 23 / 26, 2018

Tempo, Tempo, Tempo - that's what Black Friday and Cyber Monday are all about in FUT. The two events are also known as Cyber Sales and take place on one day only - namely on November 23 and November 26, 2018. Accordingly, the Cyber Sales are over quickly. So if you are not online in FIFA 19 for 24 hours, you could miss the two events.

Black Friday has its origin in the USA. There, almost every store offers special discount promotions on this day. This ensures that extremely much is sold, the stores make a lot of money - but also customers go home satisfied thanks to the reduced prices. Cyber Monday is a variation of this, limited to online stores alone.

FIFA 19 offers special pack promotions on Black Friday or Cyber Monday - at least that's how EA SPORTS handled it in the past. Hourly special sets were offered, ranging from premium gold player packs to mega packs. This is called Lightning Rounds, as these suddenly appear in the store and then are gone again very quickly.

If EA sticks to last year's pattern, these FUT events will once again feature Squad Building Challenges. But here, too, haste is the order of the day. Because the appropriately named Flash SBCs are usually only available for a short time.

How does Black Friday affect the FUT transfer market?

When many packs are opened, prices on the transfer market drop. That's the simple principle in FUT. However, since Black Friday is not a simple event with promo packs, but is specifically about pack openings, this effect is amplified even more.

So you can expect a so called market crash. This means that the prices in FIFA Ultimate Team will drop significantly. On Black Friday you can get some great bargains on the transfer market and buy some of your favorite players.

If you rather want to sell, you should do this before November 23, 2018. Black Friday is also a great opportunity to snag some already cheap OP players.

Team of the Group Stage

Launch: December 7, 2018

The announcement for the Team of the Group Stage (TOTGS) is already out. The event - in which EA SPORTS awards the best players of the Champions League and Europa League group stagewith special cards - started on December 7. This is surprising, because the last group match will not be played until December 13, 2018.

21 players have received an inform card. Who all is included, you will learn in this list:

FUTmas

Start: December 14, 2018

Numerous SBCs await you at FUTmas, where you can pick up special cards. This also includes six Prime Icon SBCs. However, EA SPORTS has not yet announced which legends of days gone by will be included. Also natural the jerseys in Christmas optics as well as pack actions belong to the FUTmas event.

The most important part of FUTmas is the countdown. Just like an advent calendar, there will be new SBCs every day until Christmas where you can get your hands on the highly coveted FUTmas cards. In total there will be 33 of them. There are already some hints which players are behind the doors.

Criteria of the FUTmas cards

Eleven players will be selected on the basis of their shirt number, with number 11 coming out on December 14 and a footballer with 1 on his shirt being selected on the 24th.

For eleven other players, the standings of their club at the end of the previous season is decisive. Again, a pro from the first-place team appears on December 14 and 1st place on the 24th of the month.

Now there are only eleven players left for whom nationality is the deciding factor. According to their place on the world ranking list, the same procedure will be followed as for the other FUTmas cards.

But there are still a few days until Christmas. But with the best talents in FIFA 19 you can already give yourself a present.

TOTY

Start: January 7, 2019

With the Team of the Year (TOTY), or Team of the Year, EA SPORTS honors the best eleven of the past year. The division is clearly specified: One goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three attackers are included. Before that, however, they must first pass the ballot.

The voting is done by athletes, selected community and press representatives and EA SPORTS itself. The developer has 40 percent of the votes and a correspondingly large influence on who of the 55 nominees makes it into the final selection.

The nominees also include four German players. Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Toni Kroos are all up for election.

As soon as the results of the vote are counted, the TOTY will be announced. All players included in it will then receive a special card in the typical dark blue design. They can only be drawn in packs and are extremely rare. The reason for this is also the high values. Last year, a TOTY card was up to eight points better than the normal gold version.

Hold on to your coins, here comes the market crash

For TOTY, thousands of packs are opened every year in search of the valuable players. As a result, the transfer market in FUT is virtually flooded with cards and the value of the not-so-rare players drops rapidly: this is the so-called market crash that happens every year at this time. If you don't want to make big losses, you should sell now to avoid a strong loss of value.
