Dying Light 2 Skills: How to improve Aiden's skills
In this skill guide to Dying Light 2 you will learn:
- How the skill system works in Dying Light 2
- How to improve Aiden's stamina and health
- Which skills are particularly useful
In Dying Light 2 you can optimize Aiden with different skills in combat and parkour. To make sure you target the right skill tree from the start and adapt your skills to your play style, we'll give you important tips on the skills in Dying Light 2 in this guide.
Dying Light 2 Skills: Which values do I have to pay attention to?
In order to optimally improve Aiden in Dying Light 2, you have to keep an eye on two stats in particular: Stamina and Health. The more you advance these values, the more access you'll have to new combat and parkour abilities. Also, Aiden's immunity will increase and you'll be able to last longer in the dark.
With a higher stamina value, Aiden can climb and fight longer without running out of breath. An increased health value makes the hero more robust against attacks and fall damage and more capable in duels.
How to improve Aiden's stamina and health in Dying Light 2
You can improve stamina and health in Dying Light 2 with inhibitors. You can find them in the GRE containers that are scattered all over the game world. If you are near an inhibitor container, you will receive a message and a small distance indicator will appear at the bottom left of the screen. However, you will have to find out the direction yourself.
Inhibitors are often hidden in toxic GRE quarantine areas or GRE anomalies. The latter are small battle arenas guarded by a special infected. Be prepared for a crunchy fight.
The containers usually contain valuable items and one or two inhibitors. In total, there are 126 inhibitors to find in Dying Light 2. You'll need three inhibitor ampoules per upgrade, which you assign to stamina or health in the skills menu. Aiden's immunity automatically increases with each level up, whether you upgrade Stamina or Health.
How do I unlock new combat and parkour skills?
Aiden has a skill tree in both combat and parkour, both of which have two separate branches. You unlock the skills contained therein one after the other with corresponding skill points, which you receive for a certain amount of collected experience points (XP). Another requirement for new skills are health and stamina values.
In addition, most skills require that you have previously mastered certain skills. You can see exactly how the skills build on each other in the respective overviews at the end of the article. You will be rewarded with XP for successfully completing missions, fights or special parkour actions. If you survive a night, you get a bonus. Parkour and combat can be upgraded to level 25.
Dying Light 2 Skills: Do I have to choose between parkour and combat?
The skill trees let you develop Aiden into a fighting machine or a parkour artist at first sight. However, you don't have to completely abandon either one - on the contrary. Progression progresses naturally according to your play style. If you spend all day on the rooftops performing one breakneck stunt after another, you'll earn more XP for the parkour skill tree. Accordingly, you'll quickly unlock new parkour skills.
But if you prefer to fight zombie hordes and clear one Dark Zone after another, more points will go to your combat account. If you want to shine in both skill trees, it's best to go wild on the rooftops during the day and occasionally use the night for daring fights with infected.
What skills should I unlock quickly in Dying Light 2?
Since it's much safer on the rooftops at the beginning and you can collect a lot of resources there, you should focus on the parkour skills first. This will also help you progress faster later on and make it easier to survive the nighttime hunt when you're being chased by nimble zombies. "Active Landing" and "Firm Grip" are highly recommended for the beginning. This will protect you from unnecessary falls from rooftops.
Ideal for fighting against large zombie hordes and bandit groups is the "Windmill". With it, Aiden performs a powerful sweeping blow and knocks down all enemies within range. If you want to rely on ranged weapons like the bow later on, orient yourself towards the skill "accurate aiming", otherwise you'll quickly chase the valuable arrows into the prairie.
