Since the multiplayer mode is currently in a beta - that is, a testing phase - the following information may still change in the future. It's possible that Rockstar is still working on the prices or will bring new weapons into the game via updates. Unlock bow
In the main game, the bow belongs to the "Long Weapons, Back" category. There it is best suited for silent killing while hunting. In Red Dead Online, you'll get the weapon at rank 10, and it will cost you $124.
It's still worth using for stealth strategies, but the bow is even more important for the Wild West interpretation of Battle Royale (read more in the Game Modes Guide).

Which is the best weapon?
Currently, only the values from the single player can be used for comparison. However, since Red Dead Online is a multiplayer game - whose gameplay experience has to be much more balanced - there is a possibility that these data do not match one hundred percent.
Moreover, the makers from Rockstar could still change them in the course of an update in the future. From the weapons available so far, the following are the best or most balanced in their category:

- Lancaster repeating rifle (Best repeating rifle)
- Carcano Rifle (Best Sniper Rifle)

Buy weapons & sell weapons: How does it work in Red Dead Online?
Note that in Red Dead Online you must first reach a certain rank in order for the weapon you want to buy to even appear in the gunsmith's offer or in the catalog. You can find the gun stores in Saint Denis, Valentine or Tumbleweed, among other places. You already know from the single player that you can get Mauser pistols or double-action revolvers in exchange for dollars.
In multiplayer, however, there is another option to expand your arsenal of weapons. To do this, hold down the left part of the directional pad on your controller, which will call up the familiar catalog on the way. If you buy weapons this way, you'll have to pick them up at a postmaster's office.
Like Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online doesn't seem to offer the possibility of selling weapons.
