All game modes in Red Dead Online

Rockstar emphasizes in the latest official announcement for the beta that the test phase will initially include the following five game modes. We expect that new challenges will be gradually brought into the game through updates. In Red Dead Online, these multiplayer battles gather under the term "Showdown Series".

So, if you want to participate in Most Wanted or Shootout & Team Shootout in Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, you'll need to head to a "Showdown Series Marker." Then, in a short time, the corresponding match will start.

When more game modes are available in Red Dead Online, we will update this guide.

Shootout & Team Shootout: Endless fun with endless lives

In this game mode you have to get as many kills as possible within a certain period of time. In the event of a tie, a so-called "sudden death" occurs. Whoever lands the next kill wins the match.

Red Dead Online challenges you in all sorts of game modes.

Make It Count: Battle Royale with a Twist

In this game mode, the map gets smaller the longer the match goes on. Make It Count thus borrows from the popular Battle Royale principle. The fact that you have to use either throwing knives or bows and arrows to kill your opponents adds spice. Whoever survives the longest wins the round.

Most Wanted: Everything Has Advantages and Disadvantages

In this game mode of Red Dead Online, points are added to your account with every kill. At the same time, the points that other players receive when they send you into the dust increase.

Hostile Territory: Teamwork is key

Work together to control as much of the multiplayer map as possible. The more areas you gain, the more points you earn. Alternatively, the team that takes control of the entire map wins.

Name Your Weapon: Creativity is rewarded

Depending on the weapon you choose, you'll earn points in this game mode of Red Dead Online. The more demanding your weapon is, the more rewards you'll get for kills. The matches are played either as a team or according to the principle of "everyone against everyone".

Gun Rush: Classic Battle Royale

32 playersthe constantly shrinking map size, bagging weapons and ammunition - Gun Rush brings the familiar Battle Royale mode to the Wild West. This works either in teams or according to the principle "everyone against everyone". The playable maps are Fort Mercer, Rhodes and Tall Trees.

We recommend running to the center of the map immediately after starting the match in Red Dead Online: There you'll find the most useful items, but it's better to use firearms instead of melee weapons. Next, look for an elevated position, such as the roof of a building, to get an advantage. Use the mini-map for orientation, it shows all players, horses or buildings.

The Gun Rush mode is the closest to Battle Royale.
