What are cigarette pictures in Red Dead Redemption 2?
You know collectibles from pretty much all open-world games, whose representatives include Assassin's Creed Odyssey or Fallout 76 in addition to Red Dead Redemption 2. The cigarette pictures are scattered all over the open game world, and you'll often discover them in abandoned huts.
So you don't necessarily have to hunt for cigarette pictures. If you enjoy exploring the open world, you will automatically discover Easter Eggs in RDR2 or graves in RDR2, as well as cigarette pictures.
They are divided into 12 sets of 12 motifs each. In total, Arthur Morgan has to collect 144 cigarette pictures to get all the rewards that are available for the related quest. More on this in the next section of this guide.
"Smoking and Other Pastimes": The Quest for the Cigarette Pictures
The Collectibles are closely related to the side quest "Smoking and Other Pastimes" in Red Dead Redemption 2. Relatively early in the story - more precisely, after "He Who Is Not Without Sin" in Chapter 2 - you'll head to Flatneck Station in New Hanover to accept them.
There, a character named Phineas T. Ramsbottom awaits you, asking for your help. The chain smoker is passionate about collecting cigarette pictures, but is far from having all the available sets. After a short cutscene, the side mission "Smoking and Other Pastimes" will activate.
It asks you to gather cigarette picture sets and then send them by mail to Phineas T. Ramsbottom. By the way, from the start of the quest, some of these collectibles can be found in Red Dead Redemption 2 in the first place.
Where do I buy premium cigarettes for cigarette pictures?
Before we show you where to find these collectibles in the open world, we'll tell you about the alternatives. Cigarette pictures come in premium cigarette packs. So if you buy a load at your local general store, you might find a motif that you're missing.
Note that the distribution of cigarette images in purchased premium cigarettes is random. The same is true for packs that Arthur steals or that are stolen from the Lootenemies. How to sell duplicate motifs in Red Dead Redemption 2, you'll read later.

How do I sell cigarette pictures in Red Dead Redemption 2?
With the sheer amount of these collectibles - and the fact that some of them are really hard to get - you'll have some designs duplicated. Fortunately, there is a possibility to sell these duplicates.
To do this, seek out fences in the action adventure, in another guide we'll show you the locations of these shady dealers. When selling the cigarette pictures, a few dollars go into Arthur's pocket, which is why duplicates are not too annoying.
