  • with whom you can swap
  • how swapping works

Pokémon GO is wonderful to play alone, because it doesn't require anyone to walk through the city or parks. Still, roaming from the tall grass is most enjoyable with friends, isn't it? This also has the advantage that it is possible to swap at any time.

We have some more tips on Pokémon GO for you. Among other things, we'll tell you whether running can be simulated and how Community Day and special research work. So you are well prepared to play the Pokémon anime app for daszu.

Requirements for swapping

To make a swap, there must be at least one other trainer nearby that you select as your swap partner. You may not be more than 100 meters apart. It is also necessary that you are friends in Pokémon GO. Only then will the swap button appear next to the gift icon.

Before you swap Pokémon, take a look at your stardust supply. Each swap will cost you a few stardust points. The amount depends on how rare the Pokémon is. So a Karpador is a bargain compared to a Zapdos.

How swapping works in Pokémon Go

If the swapping partners are near each other, a request can be sent. If the other player accepts this invitation, you will land on the swap screen. Here, each can select the Pokémon to be sent. The screen will then display the expected competition points (WP) and health points of the pocket monster. If you change your mind at this point, you can still swap the Pokémon.

While you still get a first glimpse of the Pokémon's strength before the swap, the individual stats (IV) such as attack, defense, etc. are re-rolled. The attacks, level and weight, however, remain unchanged. If your friendship level is particularly high, the IV values often improve noticeably. So if you want to improve a Pokémon a bit, just swap it with your friends.

Getting lucky Pokémon

You may be lucky enough to get a special Pokémon when trading with a particularly good friend. The higher your friend rank with the exchange partner, the greater the chance of getting a lucky Pokémon. These extraordinary creatures look no different, but have a special ability: power-ups for leveling up cost only half the amount of stardust. This is especially handy for pocket monsters that have evolved in Pokémon GO.

Become lucky friends

Since getting lucky Pokémon is really rare, Niantic has added another way in April 2019 to get special pocket monsters. The prerequisite is that you are already best friends with the swap partner. Now, if you go out together and fight in a raid, attack arenas together, or just exchange a gift, you might become lucky friends. If that happens, you'll get a message in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO: Error code solutions for it

The However,Lucky Friends status only lasts for 24 hours. During this time, it is advisable to exchange a Pokémon that you would like to level up later. Maybe the evolution of your Pokémon companion? Because when you trade a Pokémon with the Lucky Friends status, it automatically becomes a Lucky Pokémon. After that, the status drops back to Best Friends and you can repeat the procedure the next day. The more connections you have in the app, the more Lucky Pokémon you can get.

Reduce stardust costs when swapping

Legendary Pokémon are very special, and so is their price when you swap them. For example, you can pay up to one million stardust to swap Lavados. Quite a lot. Especially if you want to train your Pokémon and trade them frequently.

To save a little on trading, choose your trading partner carefully. The higher the friendship rank between the two parties, the cheaper the cost will be. For example, as best friends, you'll only pay 40,000 stardust instead of the 1,000,000 otherwise due for Legendary Pokémon.

A Legendary Pokémon is also Genesect. It has not yet appeared in the app, but you can learn more about the Legendary Pokémon in the app.

Pokémon Go: Bonuses for exchanges

If you swap a Pokémon with a friend, you will not only receive the other pocket monster, but also a bonus from Niantic. Thus, you will be rewarded with candies as soon as the swap is completed. How many you get depends on where the other Pokémon was caught. The farther away the location is, the more candies it rains for you. So catch as many Pokémon as possible while on vacation to trade with your friends back home.

0-10 kilometers distance = 1 candy
10 - 100 kilometers distance = 2 candies
More than 100 kilometers distance = 3 candies

Limitations of the special swap

While you can do a normal swap as often as you want (and you have stardust), a special swap is different. A special swap occurs when you want to swap these types of Pokemon:

  • Legendary Pokémon
  • Shiny's
  • Regional Pokémon (like Plusle and Minun)
  • Pokémon not yet registered in the Pokédex
  • New forms of Pokémon

For this, Niantic sets you a limit so that only one swap per day is possible. However, if you want to move a normal Pokémon back and forth after changing Rayquaza, for example, that's not a problem.

Good to know: Mysterious Pokémon cannot be swapped at all, by the way. So you can't get Mew or Mewtu from friends.
