FIFA 20 Ratings: This is what EA Sports has revealed so far

One day before the release of the FIFA 20 demo, EA Sports published the ratings of the top 100 players from FIFA 20 (!). Surprisingly, Lionel Messi is ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and decorates the strongest gold card in this year's soccer simulation with a 94 rating. Perennial rival CR7 has to settle for second place and an overall rating of 93 this year.

Neymar Jr. rounds out the top 3 with a strong 92 rating. However, these three will only be the players with the strongest ratings for a short time. Because EA Sports will release a lot of inform and special cards within the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode again this year. These are players who have convinced in Real Life Football and who will consequently also be equipped with significantly higher ratings in FIFA 19.

There will also be icon players with a significantly higher ranking again this year. This year 14 new players have made it into the selection of especially rare and valuable FIFA 20 icons, whose ratings we also present to you in this article. In addition, EA Sports released a not-so-serious Youtube video featuring Sterling, Kaká and João Félix in the FIFA test lab.

Besides Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar the most popular players from FIFA 19 make it into the top 10 of this year's ratings. With an overall rating of 91, Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak is pleased to have the best goalkeeper rating in FIFA 20 (). The strongest gold defender this year will be Virgil Van Dijk, who will be set in the squads of many eSports players with a 90 rating. Also a German player makes it into the top ten, Marc-André ter Stegen of FC Barcelona reached an overall rating of 90 and thus lands on the tenth place of the top 100 FIFA 20 players.

FIFA 20 Icons: Zidane, Guardiola, Pirlo & more

Meanwhile, EA also announced the ratings of all 14 new icons via Twitter. The new icons are led by cover star Zinédin Zidane, whose prime card graces an overall rating of 96. In addition, Ian Wright, Ronald Koeman, Carlos Alberto, Pep Guardiola, Michael Essien, Gianluca Zambrotta, Kenny Dalglish, John Barnes, Ian Rush, Hugo Sanches, Garrincha, Drogba and Andrea Pirlo also received icon status in FIFA 20.

To do this, you must know that there are always four versions of an icon, which represent different stages of development of the icon's career. The base version has to be satisfied with the weakest rating, followed by the middle version of the icon. The strongest rating is given to the so-called Prime version of the icons, which represent the prime of the stars' careers. Controversially discussed was the introduction of the Prime Icon Moments, an even stronger version of the icons, for which no FIFA 20 ratings are known yet.
