Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 cheats: How they work in the remake

In our guide to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 you will learn:

  • Whether the cheats from the old games still work
  • Which cheats are available in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2?
  • How to unlock the cheats

Do you still need help with the basics in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2? In this guide we have listed the most important tips and tricks for the game.

Except for a few small improvements, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 is actually an exact copy of the original games from 1999 and 2000 - only with awesome graphics. And that's exactly why the remake still rocks just like the classics from back then. Maybe you still have a notepad with the cheats from the originals somewhere. Unfortunately, you can 't use the codes in the remake : the shortcuts and console commands for giant heads, turbo mode and other shenanigans no longer work in the remake.

Instead, there is now an entire mods menu where you can turn on and off various features, game aids and cheats. You can find the mods either in the game's main menu under the Options item, or alternatively in the game's pause menu under the Game Options item. The following mods are available for selection: Legacy, Helps and Cheats. Now you can find out what the various setting items and their sub-items do.

Legacy: Set different movement sets

Under the Legacy item you can select different movement sets that have an effect on the controls in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2. You can choose between the options Standard, THPS 1, classic and THPS 2, classic.

The Standard option offers you the most comfortable and comprehensive controls. Here you also have access to all the moves and tricks that were only integrated into the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series after the first two games.

If you want to experience the exact controls from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, you'll have to choose the THPS 1, Classic option. Here you can only perform the tricks that were already included in the original. Manuals, for example, are completely missing in this setting.

The THPS 2, classic option is similar. Here you only have access to the trick repertoire from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Manuals are included here, but reverts, wallplants or acid drops are not.

The Legacy item is available right at the beginning of the game and does not need to be unlocked.

Instead of entering codes, you can simply activate modifications and cheats in Tony Hawk''s Pro Skater 1 2 in the Mods menu.

Helps: Little helpers for the perfect run

In the Help section you can set various modifications that will make skating much easier. They are especially suitable for beginners who still have problems with the balance of the tricks or can't land combos cleanly yet. Of course, you can also use the aids to achieve a fat high score without much effort. The helps are also available right at the beginning of the game. However, by activating them, some tasks in the levels and challenges can no longer be completed.

The following helps are available:

  • Perfect Rail Balance
  • Perfect Manual Balance
  • Perfect Lip Balance
  • Always Special
  • No crashes

Cheats in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2: These cheats are available

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 unfortunately doesn't offer as many cheats as the two originals, but four cheats have made it into the remake. As with the helps, some challenges can't be completed with activated cheats. Which cheats there are, what they do and how you unlock them, you can see here:

2x Base Score With this cheat you get double base points for tricks (not multipliers). For example, a kickflip is worth 200 points instead of 100 points. You unlock the cheat by completing the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Tour at 100%.

Statistics: With this cheat you can minimize or maximize the abilities of each skater. The Expert option resets all of a character's abilities to one point each, and Super Stats gives you the maximum number of stat points. With the Standard option, your skater has exactly as many stat points as you have unlocked. This cheat is also unlocked after completing 100% of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Tour.

Graphics: This option allows you to spruce up the graphics with various filters. The choices are:

  • Standard
  • Black and White
  • Inverted color
  • Mono Green
  • Old School

Requirement to unlock: 100 percent completion of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Tour.

Skater Size: The only goofy cheat that made it into the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 remake. The Dwarf Skater option shrinks you to the size of an action figure, while the Giant Skater option turns you into a giant whose head even sticks out of the picture. The Standard option returns you to your normal size

Size. You can unlock this cheat by completing the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 Tour at 100 percent.

Tony Hawk also looks good in black and white.

The inverted color graphics option is reminiscent of photo negatives.

Tony Hawk meets Matrix

The Old School graphic style is perfect for reminiscing.
