Destiny 2: Infundering - how to do it in 2022

In our guide to infusing in Destiny 2 you will learn:

  • What infusing is
  • Which materials you need to infuse
  • Where to get the materials

What is infusing and how does it work in Destiny 2?

With each expansion and each season, the power level in Destiny 2 is increased. In order to continue using your existing weapons and armor in the new end-game content, you need to raise their power level. This is where infusion comes in: If you find a weapon with a higher power level, you can use it to infuse an old weapon - the new weapon will be destroyed and its higher power level will be transferred to your old weapon.

Note: You can infuse weapons and armor only with items from the same slot. Thus, to infuse a helmet, you also need a helmet with a higher power level.

You must infuse your old weapons to continue using them.

To infuse, inspect the item whose power level you want to raise and click the left icon under "Weapon Mods" or "Armor Mods". Select the item with the higher power level you want to infuse and confirm.

What materials do I need to infuse?

There are two different materials that can be used for infusing. Which of the two materials you need depends on what kind of item you are using to infuse.

  • Upgrade Module: Basically, you need an upgrade module to infuse a weapon or piece of armor.
  • Mica: If you are infusing the exact same weapon or piece of armor, you do not need an upgrade module, only 1,000 mica.

Where can I get upgrade modules?

You can buy upgrade modules in the tower at Banshee-44 or Ada-1. One upgrade module costs

  • 1 improvement core
  • 10 Legendary fragments
  • 25 planetary materials (type of material changes daily)
  • 5.000 mica

Banshee-44 sells upgrade modules.

How do I get the materials for the upgrade modules?

As described above, you will need some resources for the upgrade modules. In the following we will tell you how to get the different materials:
