Hitman 3 Dartmoor: Find the case file in the safe - code for Alexa's vault

Finding the case file is one of two objectives in the Dartmoor level "Death in the Family" of Hitman 3. In this guide you will learn:

Hitman 3 Dartmoor: Where is the case file?

The case file is in a safe in the best-guarded room of the Dartmoor estate: Alexa Carlisle's office on the second floor. You can get to the office by climbing along the outside of the building or by disguising yourself as a bodyguard. The safe with the file is well hidden: run to the desk and press the button on the armrest of the chair. Behind you the picture with the dog will move to the side and reveal the safe. To open it, you need a four-digit combination.

To open the safe and find the case file, enter the combination 1975.

Do you want to figure out the code by yourself? Then take a closer look at the symbols above the safe. From left to right you can see a decorated clock, a telescope, a fire and a moose head. Look for these objects in the room.

  • The clock is on the dresser under the stairs. In front of the clock is a plaque with the number 1.
  • Run up the stairs. At the window is the telescope and on the wall behind it you can see the plaque with the number 9.
  • The fire is burning - of course - in the fireplace. A plaque with the number 7 on it is placed directly above the flames.
  • The moose's head hangs above the large entrance door to the room. Above the head on the wall you can see the plaque with the number 5.

With the case file in your luggage, you have completed one half of the mission. The only thing missing is Alexa, who you have to bring around the corner - if you haven't already done so at this point.

Death in the family: get the case file without the safe code

There is another way to get the case file in Hitman 3. Disguise yourself as a detective and solve the murder case from the story mission "Means, Motive and Opportunity". Once you've found the killer, talk to Alexa Carlisle. She will offer you a reward for your efforts. You can demand the case file, which she will then retrieve from the safe for you.
